So Cal's Finest 12u had a very surprising final 8 this weekend.

Final 8 were

American Athletics(2 in pool)
Firecrackers 98(2)
SD Aztecs(1)
Victory USA(2)
So Cal Wicked(4)
Grappettes(3)
Cal Cruisers(3)
USA Athletics(2)

Only 1 team won there pool.

This tournament oes to show why the games are played. Everybody including me would have probably predicted Batbusters-Snow, Corona Angels & SD Aztecs to be in the final four. The surprising thing was they all failed to make final 8. Good tournament.

Lots of good teams in 12U. Bracky still has most of the top teams right and they'll shine at Nationals. '98 group is pretty weak as a whole with only two exceptions FC '98 and Victory '98.

This, combined with some of the results at the AP friendly this weekend, just shows that it's anybody's to win this year. In 12U there is certainly no clear cut king of the hill like in years passed.

Why do you think the 98 teams are weak. Is your team...I mean CAMBELLS team that good you can just roll everyone?

Once again you put your foot in your mouth.

We have played a few 98 teams out there and they seem to hold there own.

I do recall loosing to some along the way, but hey it is underhand and all it takes is a bad day on the mound to do it to you.

That's because TB is so watered down it's becoming ridiculous. Most kids need to stay in rec ball just a little bit longer.

We need others- Numero, Spaz, Arto and the like, who have coached succesfully, at this and higher level and age groups, come back down and coach/adopt a 12's team. Either that or host more coaching clinics. Please. Our gals need you.

I hear what you are saying. When you look at it from that perspective, it appears the newer generation's talent has elevated.

It amuses me how everyone is so concerned about what "THEY" have to say.
