Did the invites go to ASA 18G teams only or PGF teams as well.
What rankings are they using, if any, or is that just a smokescreen.
Starts the day after ASA Nats so expecting players to go back to back weeks. Overuse, who cares. Not to mention travel expenses.
Overlaps with PGF HS division. Do they think the prize money will lure teams away.
Isn't ASA supposed to represent the amateur side of softball. It's a disgusting prize pool to be throwing around at the expense of players.

To say ASA has a last act is laughable considering they are really the only act. They have only just begun and I have a feeling there will be more surprises in the future. You are really going to laugh when you see their next move.

Outside of some teams choosing to play PGF instead of ASA how has any of this divide effected ASA to cause them to act in such an irresponsible manner.
Last time I checked there are still a huge number of teams playing ASA around the country and their Nationals are still large tournaments with full fields. . What would be the motivation for this. Why does ASA want so badly to get the teams back that left for PGF. It's certainly not a money issue for them. Is it a prestige thing knowing that many top teams have chosen to go elsewhere and they see that it has diminished the stature of their nationals?

Yep, ASA takes great pride in being the NGB of softball and running USA Softball. It was a big blow when they lost their status of having the preeminent national championship.

This is one of the worst ideas I have ever seen in our sport and it is downright shameful. Not only have people found a way to make money (and in some cases a lot of it) off of our sport/ parents/ players but now we are going to put cash prizes to tourneys toO... SMH.... How many teams can even afford $6,000? Not to mention that ASA is also going to use this event to help "evaluate" for Jr. national and National team tells me that they're not interested in putting together the best teams... just the "best" that play in their events...

This is another "hey, we tried but!" moment
