Worth Helmets suck

What's on your mind?

by thetruth » Mon Feb 18, 2013 10:59 pm

How does Worth have so much to do with softball and the helmets they sell are far below par? How do you make a one size fits all helmet? We had a player hit by a pitch at about 52 mph and she was taken to the doctor with a concussion. Two thumbs down to Worth helmets.

Worth Helmets look great but they are horrible just like the new fastpitch bats. Worth had a couple great fastpitch bats in the past the Worth Mutant was a beast but you would be lucky to get a half of season out of it before it broke. Then they had the Toxic, one of the best bats on the market. Some reason they discontinued the Toxic and came out with the 454 Legit, nothing legit about it, this bat is junk. Louisville has the best bat on the market right now even though they sound terrible when you hit it.

I agree Schutt helmets are the way to go

In regards to helmets,,,they can protect just so much, a good and proper fit is vital. A solid hit on any helmet my take down anyone.
In regards to Fenways views on the Worth 454, I would disagree, my dd loves hers and does quite well.
Of course I have told her before quote "it's not the bat beach, but the beach with the bat" :D
I see further, because I stand on the shoulders of giants

Helmets are only designed to protect against one hit and then needs replaced. How many times did it get dropped, or hit previously. - probably a lot.

SBradley where did you see if you drop your helmet it needs to be replaced?

We had three kids in the fall get concussions with brand new helmets. One was running to first and she was one step away from first base and the catcher hit her in the head with the ball and she had a concussion. I have never heard that if you drop a helmet or the helmet gets hit by a ball one time you should replace it. Interesting....if true

DD absolutely loves her Worth Helmet...So much so that when we switched Org's she made me talk to the HC to make sure she could wear a Worth with new logo and colors....

DD been 'graped' a few times and has had great protection... No complaints..

I was surprised to see this post...
