STATS/SCORING question

I have a question guys...surely someone will be able to help!! I am wondering the correct way to score a hit! Here is the scenario...

Girl at bat hits the ball to the fence in center field. Coach waves her around second for third...throw is made and she is put out at 3rd on the attempted triple. Is it scored as:
A - a double, with a put out at 3rd....
B - an out at 3...and NOT scored as a hit...

I know that possible scenarios can make it a bit different. Thanks for the input in advance....
