TPS Zeno for $199. Too good to be true?

Saw the TPS Zeno -10 advertised for $199.99 on a popular website. When I tried to purchase online the price came up $299.99. When I tried to purchase over the phone they basically told me it was a digital error and they couldn't sell it to me at that price. Is this false advertising and are they obligated to sell it at that price?

If they listed it for a certain price they have to sell it for that price would be my guess.

The reason I said that was because in December I went to Sport Chalet. They had a price out on a pair of boots for my kid. I got the boots and went to the front counter, they said they were $40 more. I showed them what the sign said, they called the manager and I got the lower price.

Yep, just a mistake. If the price on the sticker is within reason, and they do not honor it, it would be the last time they see me.

Not 100% sure Uno, but I believe there would need to be 'intent' to deceive .... In your case the advertised price could have been correct and the bar code just didn't ring the boots up the way it should have ... If not, it may have been the managers attempt at not having a disgruntled customer prior to correcting the mistake ... In the case of the $199 Xeno, hotcorner was told about the mistake and given the opportunity to purchase the bat at the correct price ... No harm-no foul ... If I was hotcorner though, I would have asked politely if they would be willing to split the difference ...

Since your talking about the "TPS Zeno" does anyone have any information about the bat. My daughter loved the feel of it and I purchased one for her two weeks a go. The bat has a different sound to it, but it really has some good pop. She said it feels really lite, probably because it is even loaded. (If you talk to the manager they will probably give it to you for that price, since they are not loosing money).

I politely stated that I thought they should sell me the bat for that price since I brought the mistake to their attention. He chuckled and stated that he was not authorized to sell me the bat for that price. Brought up the question about false advertising and he said he honestly didn't know if it was. He was the sales rep available Sunday night. Told him I wouldn't bust his ba#~$ about it and left it at that. I'm sure they would not have lost any money on the sale even at $199.
