anonlooker...the Atlanta Vipers-Dean has a young lady throwing in the 63/64 range. We scrimmaged her on Saturday and she was right at 63/64 all game on the gun behind home plate. Good team as well.

Lou. Lady Sluggers beat the NG Dirt Dogs 4-3
The East Cobb Bullets beat the Birmingham Vipers 5-3 (not sure which teams though)
SoCal Jets were beating the Georgia Crusaders 2-1 in the 6th. Not sure how it ended.

We were originally scheduled to play at 6pm and that game has been moved to 11am tomorrow.

Life is not fair.. No one wants to play at 3 AM but what else can be done? Games need to be played to get them all in. They can always send all the teams in the loses bracket home and make it a single elim tourney..

Crusaders beat Jets 2-1. Tying run thrown out at the plate by Crusaders RF to end the game. 95 Victory USA beat Bandits 4-1 in 9 innings. Good game with both teams having several opportunities to score before going to ITB. Vipers Dean beat AZ Storm 13-0. Georgia Elite (Rogers) beat Compuware 8-5. Rained again this evening. I heard rumors they may go to single elimination.

Just out of curiosity...how big are these girls on the Vipers that throw mid 60's? Height, weight, body type?

Considering the rain delays were entirely predictable, with a little foresight ASA might have gotten pool play done in one day to reserve a day for weather issues. On the off chance the weather had held. they could have finished on Saturday and everyone would have Sunday for the trip home. Ah well, hindsight. But something tells me this isn't the first time this has happened!

It would really be a shame if they cut the tournament to single elimination. Not only for the girls and teams missing out on action, but it's always fun to watch who battles up through the lower brackets after a tough loss early on. One and done is brutal!

There is a link on the tournament website to a Photo Gallery. There are hundreds if not thousands of photos already posted, and I would guess you might find some shots of the local talent in there somewhere. Assuming you really care to know, have a look (and let us know where exactly you find them because it will likely take hours to go through them all!)

Rumor has it one of the GA teams has a kid throwing mid-60's... local legend, or has anyone seen her pitch? Any idea what team she's on?

I know the girl, pitches for the local high school as well as for Vipers-Dean, and I can tell you that she is phenominal. Highley regarded by the most respected high school coaches as the best pitcher, only a rising sophmore. I can't say with certinty, but have heard she is being looked at by some of the best already (florida, georgia, tennesse, etc.). Size wise she is very average. If you go to vipers-dean website (eteamz), there is a profile on her (#14).

I heard that the Jets runner was obstructed by 3B, then continued home where the Crusaders catcher blocked the plate and prevented her from scoring, well before the ball arrived. Two instances of obstruction on one play and neither one was called.

Miss Onlooker. can you hit those photos for me and report. I'm too deep in the Dodger game right now....but still wondering about the 64ish pitchers. Don't doubt it, but are they 5'11' 6'1' 6'2' 130lbs 150lbs+ or what.

Just checked the Vipers website, that is one big impressive squad! They probably can all pitch 63ish.
