Trying to find pants in the stores this time of year is nearly impossible...especially ones that fit right! You'd think they would figure it our here in So Cal but not yet. So, not being one to shop on the internet I sucked it up and inquired about the new Gluv pants. Chris Kumiyama went out of his way to help me figure out sizing and got them to us so quick. Picky teenage daughter tried them on and is very happy. She is thin but thinks all softball pants make her look fat. So to my surprise she tried them on and said "hey, they don't make my butt look fat". Miracles do happen in this life! Thank you so much to Chris and Unilete for their help and designing something even a teenager appreciates!!!

I want to thank Chris for his exceptional customer service and getting a shipment out to me. I order the pants and pink headband on Wednesday and received them Thursday. My daughter loves the pants and the pink headband. I will be placing an order with you today for a more headbands and once the parents send me the size for all the girls in pants will place an order for them also.

I had a question about 'the Gluv' uniforms. It has long been the practice in the uniform industry to change styles of the uniform every year. Some even try to sell the fact that you always get the current updated style as a feature.

If you are one of the teams that reuse uniforms year to year, this is a problem. You cannot get new replacement uniforms, that match your existing set. I believe these company thinks if they can get you to buy a new set every year, they will make more money.

I know that Victory created a program where they guarantee uniforms will be available for a very long time. Couple of issues with the Victory stuff. They are great uniforms, but seem a bit expensive. For your first order you have to work with them on a custom setup, which has an expensive up front cost. Replacement uniforms have a pretty long lead time, 6-8 weeks, as they have to pull out your custom designs and set it up. Replacement uniforms are expensive, you almost have to order 2 or 3 to make it worth while.

I do not totally understand the Victory pricing. We were in a couple of orgs that had Victory and they seemed to use old uniforms way too long. When I asked I got a pretty long story about how they are custom uniforms and the expensive ordering replacements.

Can someone from the Gluv talk about availability of replacement uniforms a couple of years after buying the initial uniform set?

TheGluv is made in the USA, in Fountain Valley, California. We design and manufacture each Pant and Jersey. That gives us the unique ability to not only design and create cutting edge products, but also revisit older products we have made for re-production. Think of "Monster Garage." That's us. So yes, we can re-produce whatever we made, regardless of how much time has gone by.

However, doing small replacement orders is rarely profitable. If everyone placed nothing but small orders of a couple pieces each, we would be dead as a doorknob and have to close shop. So you need to help us by placing orders of 6 pieces or more, or by paying higher prices as quantities go down. Obviously one piece is going to be the most expensive. The reason is that setting up each job is expensive. It takes the same amount of time to set-up to produce one unit as it does to make fifty. We earn our living by running larger orders.

The next issue, is that each of our products is made here in the USA. While we fight to keep our prices affordable, the manufacturing costs are fifty times higher here in California than in other parts of the world where our competitors make theirs. But I like manufacturing here at home. It gives me greater control over the quality of our products and I can make design changes on the fly. And finally, it bothers me that America continues to outsource jobs overseas. I believe that manufacturing here is simply, the right thing to do. It's not about increasing shareholder profits by sending American jobs overseas. It's about keeping American jobs at home, and understanding we need to take care of each other.

Agree, thanks for the straight forward response. Yes, small batch orders are going to be a bit more expensive, as setup is the same cost. It seems that other uniform companies attempt to price the initial order low, counting on locking in the customer and making their profits down the road.

Yes but Victory are over priced and if you need to add a uniform in the middle of the year the price is outrageous. Plus our Blue Victory pants are now purple. Victory does make a quality uniform I will give them that but they are not worth what you pay unless you have a unlimited bank roll.
