Inappropriate Music

What's on your mind?

by Sam » Mon Mar 23, 2009 2:00 pm

Funny how the same parents who would complain about explicit lyrics in a song are the same ones who would gladly send their 14 yr old DD to play for a Gold team and listen to last weekends' escapades....drinking, drugs, sex.....wow....everything thats in the lyrics.

But, IT'S JUST MUSIC. As for playing between innings, I think you need to be respectful of other games going on, and as long as its low, it should be ok.

Maybe the coach should just sit back inbetween innings and flip open his copy of maxim magazine as well it's just pictures and a few articles right...

So you've seen Art coaching too? ;)

Tell you the truth I can't remember a song I listened to growing up talking about killing cops or ho's. I hear this all the time in a lot of new songs. Things are getting worse by the day

Do any of these kids play Grand Theft Auto, Maybe not at your house but at a friends that game is all about killing Ho's and Cops. We are in a generation that thrives on this stuff, my job as a parent is to make sure my kids understand wrong and rights and that is it.

Or how about Guittar Hero, are your kids not allowed to play the songs by Danzig, or Slayer on there?

For me I would rather have my kids TV thrown out before the radio or Ipods, and at our house we play all types of music from country to hard rock to rapp, and we the parents let our kids know what is appropriate.

I can not control the other kids around us, only mine.

Ok, I'll go with the obvious.

So all you goodies didn't know the words to the Eagles, Def Leppard, or the Grease soundtrack when you were 8, 10, or 12? We had sex and drugs in our songs. It just wasn't shoved down our throats like it is now.

What I hate more than anything is TV. You can't watch a somewhat clean sitcom with your kids anymore without commercials for Extends, Love Rub, Herpes medicine, or some form of birth control. Don't get me started on how shows portray women.

I sound like my mom. LOL
