SO CALS FINEST - Fall Kick Off

What's on your mind?

Have the 5-0 teams together, the 3-2 teams together, the 0-5 teams together, etc. Then, if the scores are to be trusted, the games should be much more competitive. If its a teams first event drop them in the middle group and see which way they go.

This could work because TCS is organized enough to pull this off.
Maybe as more TCS showcases are in the books, they can group teams based on prior performances. And weed out teams that constantly perform poorly by putting them on the waiting list. College coaches want to see quality teams and quality performances.

So Cals Finest only advertised showcase is Zoom into June, which is one of the best showcases of the year. I did see about 15 colleges at Diamond Valley :) Could have been more at the other fields

I have had parents say stuff like this in a loud voice as they are walking by me while I am talking to a college coach.

The big picture, this was sold as a showcase, not a friendly. Where were the scouts?

Can you tell me where it was billed as a "showcase"
It is called the Fall Kickoff.

I stand corrected it is not billed as a showcase. Nor is it tournament. So what do we have, a glorified friendly which is ran by a private entity which of course, is a for profit entity. With free labor, poor food, and less than ideal fields and grounds maintenance.

Got love capitalism, I am one. But this ladies and gentleman this is suppose to be about the kids and not some company’s bottom line.

Poor Food, okay mr high roller

Maybe they should offer all these teams a place to play, pay for fields, insurance, health permits and spend numerous hours putting the games together so your team can play for free.

It's Monday and someone already got the weekly heybucket clueless award

Let me know when you run an event with that many teams for free.

The worst part of it is all the coaches who try to attract players by saying they "go to all the major showcases," then drag their teams out to non-events like this, week after week after week, spending parents cash all the while.

When the SCF was run by local teams, they kind of got a pass because they pumped the money back into thier organizations to benefit their players. (at least i think they did.) But that is no longer the case with the ownership transfer to TCS.

As Número Uno noted, Zoom is the only real showcase that SCF put on, and that became a great showcase. Parents should know that if thier coaches are signing up for all the other SCF events, there is no real benefit, other than playing some games, which you could do at much less cost at friendlies.

Why aren't there more friendlies? Teams need to play, why isn't anyone raising funds this way? Shouldn't coaches be trying to help keep costs under control, as opposed to spending parents money as if they are Obama?

He must have eaten at the wrong snack bar.

The Minors Gold snack bar is better than you will find at any travel ball event, not to mention the places in Hemet.

TH we had scouts at our games and we had a couple players that may have something brewing because of the games they played in this weekend. You never know

never take a weekend or game off always send your letters, don't get lazy, make them personalized and hit it hard when they show up

btw , we take pride in what we serve at the snack bar :)

Let’s take this one point at a time.

Place to play
Any travel org/team will have a field they call home and will have access to it for a fundraiser i..e. friendly and the fund go to the org./team and if properly run will benefits the players not some company’s bottom line
Pay for field
Out of the general funds, non-profit or for profit, cost of doing business.
Health permits
You have got to be kidding; any health inspector would have shut down the so called snack bar.
Spent hour putting the game together
Coast of doing business.

Speaking of clueless, your post speaks for it self.

In case you missed it no were did I say a team should play for free.

keep your rec ball team home next time, I can tell by what you are saying how little you know

I remember who you are from some other ignorant posts you had a while back

the cost of doing business the cost of doing business what a tool, so they should spend time and money and not make money, oh okay

The cost to pay for everything does not come from any team fund einstein

I don'y know why I waste time on people like you, I must be board
