Lol. In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. So I'll take the bait.
Legal reasoning, correctly practiced, is the application of established (preferably
tested) principles, and logic, to patterns of facts.
Without bias or emotion. Women do all sorts of things better than men, but logical, unemotional decision-making isn't one of them.
Unfortunately we now live in a womanly society producing womanly men and womanly laws and policies designed to assuage emotional needs rather than solve real problems or produce best outcomes. There's a reason for that.
I concede differences exist between men and woman ... I am a big fan of many of those differences.
In my generation ... Back in HS, girls were often led to Home Economics, Typing, Sewing etc. while boys were led to the Building Trades, Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Auto Shop classes etc. ... This laid some of the groundwork for their future ... After HS they were led to professions that were considered professions for women; Secretary, Nursing, Home Maker etc not higher paying careers in Architecture, Engineering, High Iron,Welder, Doctor, Attorney etc .
I agree that a female Attorney will earn a very similar wage to a male Attorney with the same qualifications ... When or if they would even be considered as an equal in that male dominated profession ... I also agree they are (in general) the dominate sex in relationships, but I think not considered so in many fields of employment ... In addition, they are not even guaranteed Equal Rights by the US Constitution since in 46 years the ERA has yet to ratify.
Men's attitude towards women, visa versa and women's attitude about a females "role" in life and employment etc.will take generations to change ... Many areas of the country are slow to accept change ... I saw a picture in a farming magazine that had a 3 generation family standing by a tractor in front of their farm house, not one female in the picture. First hand, I know woman are some of the hardest workers on a farm, but seldom even considered as such ... I'm fairly certain this behavior exists in other fields as well.
We had the same types of high school classes in my day. But it's simply wrong to conclude or suggest that the creation of the classes preceded the demand for the classes, pursuant to some sort of patriarchal social objective. Schools offered those courses because there was huge demand for them. There still would be, but for the idiotic and elitist fiction they pimped that everyone is supposed to have a college degree and that the picture of success in this country is a 6-figure professional career (preferably with 1 child or less). Money and professional achievement, that's the ticket to happiness! For everyone!!
The proof is in the pudding. There are ZERO barriers to women's participation in any career, up to and including military combat. How many are working high steel? How many carpenters do you see? Or plumbers? Or combat infantrymen, for that matter? Women didn't take classes to become builders because they didn't want to become builders, then or now. And it strikes me as very harmful to create policies or incentives designed to push people into careers for which they lack natural aptitude or interest.
It's one thing to say a woman should be allowed into any field in which she has the ability to compete and succeed on her own merit. Freedom! But it's quite another to look at any field and conclude "sexism" if numerical representation isn't completely equal at all levels. The word for that is stupidity.
We have spent unimaginable effort and resources to correct a problem that never existed. Do you think that “women’s attitudes about a female’s ‘role’ in life and employment” were somehow forced upon them, or does it make more sense to believe that women have those attitudes because they naturally feel that way themselves, from within? Do you think all of the men who came before us actually didn’t care whether their wives or daughters led fulfilling, happy lives? “Get in the kitchen, slaves!” The notion is absurd on its face, and there is zero historical evidence in support of it.
All the generations and cultures preceding us had it wrong, and the people making policy today have it right? Is that the belief you're running with? "Full speed ahead, geniuses: just a few more generations and everything will be perfect!" Meanwhile suicide and drug abuse is rampant, life satisfaction is way down, men themselves can’t seem to find a meaningful place in the new world order, etc. And women by the millions drop out of their unfulfilling careers in order to try to have families--many times too late.
No, I think it’s pretty clear that both men
and women were, by and large, happier before Nazi feminists started calling the shots.
