If the California softball gods are gonna put on this event you think the Championship game would not be decided by temporary fencing.
I agree a lot of tournaments use temporary fencing but this tournament was not advertised as a friendly, coolege look or just another tournament. It was suppose to be A National Championship Tournament.
First year and they already screwd it up. Next year they may have to change it from Premier to So CAL Championship.Teams from rest of country may not be willing to travel to SO CAL to play in a tournament where no true champion can be crowned.
GOLD NATIONALS DON"T SOUND SO BAD NOW.
Temporary fencing didn't determine the game, the umpires interpretation of the rule did. If there would have been permanent fencing we wouldn't be having this conversation. The ball would have been over the fence and out of reach, and instead of reinstalling the fencing and continuing, we may have seen a delay in play waiting for the ambulance to take that girl away for treatment based on how hard she hit it. I'll take the temp. fencing, runner up finish, and my dd riding home with me safe and sound after the game anytime.
The tournament in its infancy can sure use a little tweaking in some area's, but the big difference is the staff at Premier are willing to listen and make those adjustments as needed.Try and get a hold of ASA and see where that get's you.
Oh yea, and ASA Gold Nationals in BFE,

or Premier in beautiful sunny souther California

,
the choice is yours. I know where I'm shooting for next year.
