You know, when I first came to this forum last fall to see what Heybucket was all about, my instinct told me it was a place where old men who were past their glory days, came together in fellowship to argue about softball for sport. For the most part I was right. Then when coronavirus hit the country and shut all team sports down, the conversation turned exclusively to politics. If you need proof, just go look at the 176 comments on the Colorado July 4th Sparkler thread.
People were whining about "Governor Gruesome" taking away their personal freedoms and other such nonsense. Mostly, it was the same 5 or 6 guys arguing about stuff they knew little or nothing about. I could tell by the childish names that some were using for Governor Newsom that these knuckleheads were big fans of Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Fox News.
Given that it was a circle of guys jerking each other off with the same rhetoric, I thought I would jump into the fray to add a little reality, perspective and intelligence to the conversation, because nobody else was doing it. Somebody had to take the bullet, I figured why not me.
I know I was taking a risk. The last time I ventured into these waters to argue softball with one of the handful of people who frequent this forum, I got tattled on when one of your fellow Trumpturds got butt hurt because I bested him in an argument. Reality was a hard thing for him to accept.
It's a typical tactic with the aforementioned reactionary radio hosts when they can't hold their own in an argument with a caller. But I figured what the hell, given that there won't be any tournament softball played in CA this summer, what's the worst that could happen? Maybe I could enlighten one or two of you to see the light, that YOU are a part of the problem, not the solution, that will get our kids back onto the softball fields again. I figured it was worth the risk, even if I get tattled on again. Boo hoo, crybaby.
