I am sure you saw those classified(now unclassified) films of Sadaam' s use of chemical weapons on the Kurds and Iranians?

I read about it in Foreign Policy magazine last year....

INVESTIGATION Exclusive: CIA Files Prove America Helped Saddam as He Gassed Iran
The U.S. knew Hussein was launching some of the worst chemical attacks in history -- and still gave him a hand.
http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2 ... assed_iran

Even before the Foreign Policy Magazine report...

On February 9, 1994, Senator Riegle delivered a report -commonly known at the Riegle Report- in which it was stated that "pathogenic (meaning 'disease producing'), toxigenic (meaning 'poisonous'), and other biological research materials were exported to Iraq pursuant to application and licensing by the U.S. Department of Commerce." It added: "These exported biological materials were not attenuated or weakened and were capable of reproduction."

The report then detailed 70 shipments (including Bacillus anthracis) from the United States to Iraqi government agencies over three years, concluding "It was later learned that these microorganisms exported by the United States were identical to those the UN inspectors found and recovered from the Iraqi biological warfare program."

Donald Riegle, Chairman of the Senate committee that authored the aforementioned Riegle Report, said:

"U.N. inspectors had identified many United States manufactured items that had been exported from the United States to Iraq under licenses issued by the Department of Commerce, and [established] that these items were used to further Iraq's chemical and nuclear weapons development and its missile delivery system development programs. ... The executive branch of our government approved 771 different export licenses for sale of dual-use technology to Iraq. I think that is a devastating record."

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control sent Iraq 14 separate agents "with biological warfare significance," according to Riegle's investigators.

Iraq purchased 8 strains of anthrax from the United States in 1985, according to British biological weapons expert David Kelly. The Iraqi military settled on the American Type Culture Collection strain 14578 as the exclusive strain for use as a biological weapon, according to Charles Duelfer.

Then there's the Anthrax terrorist of 2001...Oh wait, he worked for the US government too...

Apparent suicide in anthrax case:
Bruce E. Ivins, a scientist who helped the FBI investigate the 2001 mail attacks, was about to face charges.
http://articles.latimes.com/2008/aug/01 ... a-anthrax1

and why were key figures within the US Gov given Cipro in advance of these "attacks"?

All quite interesting stuff, don't you think? Res ipsa loquitur
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Ebola is most contagious and deadly in areas of poor healthcare and facilities. Basic facilities and quarantine facilities are usually enough to snuff out the outbreak. Unfortunately in these third world areas large numbers of infected people are brought together and we see the result

PR I am sure you saw those classified(now unclassified) films of Sadaam' s use of chemical weapons on the Kurds and Iranians?(I saw these about three years before the first gulf war). Nasty stuff!

Sarin and mustard gas wasn't it...?
I saw them...kids...women...some had green fluids coming from them...
Thats horrendous stuff...but at least its quick...bad as that is to say...
Bio weapons to me are even more frightening...
You can bet your ass, the US, and Russia have a weaponized Ebola variant...and an antidote / treatment already
Same thing for Small pox etc...At LEAST the 2 countries understand you have to turn it off...same thing for a Nuke MAD understanding.

As far as the 3rd World spread scenario...How fast could it spread in lets say...inner city USA?

What non Cold War folks don't understand...Our REAL enemies don't want us as citizens, or for religious purposes...they'd love us gone...Its the resources they want...

Spiderman...Its well known the US supported Iraq in the vs Iran thing...Old game of us supporting one and the old CCCP the other....testing weapons etc...and to remain HBPC about it I wont express my views on that
Lets just say...keep it over there

BW. Your references were to the reports that were produced rolling the Gulf War and were regarding the causes of Gulf War Syndrome. The biological items that were sent to the University of Bagdad were mostly benign and common for any University with an Ag program. There were small amounts of the virulent Anthrax that could be(with a lot of work). Be used for a bio weapon program. However, such samples are not needed to start such a program since they are naturally occurring. From my research the bio program in Iraq was not as advanced as originally believed. The chemicals used for Iraq's chemical weapons actually came from a combo of France, Britain and The Netherlands. US had shipped "dual use" chemicals. As PR knows, the leap from regular chemicals to weapons is not a huge leap-ie household ammonia mixed with choline bleach will produce chlorine gas

BW the US's involvement in the Iraq-Iran war was largely in providing intel. Remember this was shortly after the Iran hostage crisis and there was great fear of the Iranian revolution spilling over. Iraq was viewed as the "enemy of my enemy". The troubling thing is that both the State Dept and CIA were aware of the use of Chemical Weapons. Not only did they maintain a blind eye, but openly worked against UN condemnation of Iraq- politics makes strange bedfellows

Ironically for a Cold War conflict- Iran used US weapons(left over from the Shah) and Iraq used soviet and eastern bloc weapons. There were claims made during both US Iraq wars that the US had supplied weapons to Iraq, but my info and intel of the Iraqi military only show soviet bloc weapon try

As far as pandemics, the influenza of WWI killed more people( mostly civilians) than were killed on the battlefield

And dont forget the depleted uranium sabot rounds...and A-10 projectiles...

For those that didn't know, the 1st war war the US was involved in that disease or wounds didnt kill more troops than combat was WWII...Tens of thousands died in the Civil War from disease...more Confederates than than Union actually...Big city large population sicknesses that Union troops got as kids...Mumps, Chicken pox, whooping cough etc killed country boys who weren't exposed to them as kids...and infections were usually fatal...

The reports from many sources of the medieval atrocities coming from Iraq now make me nauseous...ISIS...aka The Muslim Brotherhood, aka Al Qaeda...same folks the administration helped overthrow Egypt and Libya...and admin wanted to support in Syria...are slaughtering people...Saw a pic...wont show it...slitting the throats of women and catching the blood in a huge bowl...For those that dont know...washing your hands in the blood of a Christian or other infidel is a big deal in Islam...and is a BIG money maker for them...They'll bottle it and sell it...Saudi's pay big money for it..
This is happening today...this wont end well

I will post it. Shocked at how many people do not know what is happening in northern Iraq because the MSM has reported very little on it. Barry's response so far, 2 bombs.

Dugout not sure what news you watch, but I have seen these reports from just about every news outlet. Too many people just don't watch I guess? On amass response has been more than 2 bombs, but totally inadequate

We need to arm the Kurds. Get some a10s there. A b52 carpet bombing and perhaps the 82nd airborne. There has also been reports that the Turks have also bombed Isis

These Isis guys are nasty- they kill anyone(including Shia Muslims) that do not convert to their radical wahibist form of Sunni Islam.

Agree JR, we assume people watch FOX, CNN, even MSNBC and the national news reports from the MSM networks where there has been some reports. But most people don't. They instead watch their local "news at eleven" news where they report about the latest celebrity divorce and basic watered down crap. These killings have been going on for months and it is finally being covered.

Two bombing runs.
