A field of very strong teams here for sure. Hopefully all teams take advantage and use this as an opportunity to learn and improve. I think that's the whole idea. It would be a huge waste of a great opportunity to do anything other than that.
As long as they do that, they are all winners. Now go win me that non-trophy!
Gators Linton is playing 14U on Saturday and 12U on Sunday.
Regarding sanctions, it seems like Indiana is pretty wide open. Everyone plays a mix of sanctions (NSA, USFA, PGF and ASA). Next weekend there will be a very good PGF tournament in Crown Point with a lot of very good teams.
I was very disappointed in how quick they were to call the games off today. From what I was told the kept playing the baseball games.
On the bright side it was good to see 5 organizations come together and find a couple of fields to get a couple of scrimmage games in. Kudos to the coaches and parents for working on the 2 fields so the girls could play.
So my question is why don't the big organizations try to do more friendlies with one another? I personally think all of the teams would get more out of it than playing USFA or NSA.
Who cares where Linton is playing. As for Grand Park this place is a Joke it rains for 15 min and you cancel the tournament but allow baseball to play. Also heard and not confirmed that dreams 02 and bandits stayed and played game on one of the field turf fields. Just funny they go on local TV saying how great the park is and how it can handle 2 inches of rain and so forth but cancel when it rains not even close to an inch. Just my thoughts.
