Talked to Numero Uno today at the fields. He heard a rumor they were giving 4 berths up there, not just 1. Anybody know if this is true or not?

God I hope not. At the rate they are going ASA Nationals will be just like a TC event, only without the good weather.

I was told by someone who was at the tourney that they were giving out more berths, it is hard to believe but we will see what happens.

I know that they offered a couple teams berths to regionals this weekend that did not qualify at state.

Congrats to Mavericks! Some good ballplayers on that team. They should do pretty well at Nationals, IMO.
The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure.
These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.

Congrats to the Mavericks. Hey Uno, have you heard if they gave any more berths at this qualifier? Wonder how many they will end up giving at Regionals....

Regionals is where they should be giving the extra berths away. Should be interesting.

Folks at Georgia ASA think there might be as many as 140 teams at 14U nationals this year. I'll believe that number when I see it but all the extra berths make qualifying a bit easier.

Central Cal ASA told us there were a couple of opening at Regionals next weekend and we needed to contact our ASA commish, that is the extra berths they were talking about.

In my biased opinion, they should award a berth to the Sorcerer team who took second, strong team who battled in 100 degree weather all weekend.

Sure most will say there was only 13 teams at this tourney, but with the weather the way it was all these young ladies played great! And to fall just short in your 4th game of the day, dont force them to do it again this weekend and then get a handed down berth, give it to them now.
