the 2 base umpires in that game are/were older then the redwoods. both missed and plate ump no nuts to overturn, even though he had the best angle 120 feet away.. Mechanically the base umps couldnt keep up with the game many plays this game. Slower and older then NFL refs.

She was called safe. But she was clearly out, the call was made by a blue that was out of position in the right field grass on a field that was cut very deep. No way he made the right call and the other blues didn't want to overturn the horrible call. Too bad in an otherwise great game.

LOL... your position from the stands was better than all three umps... For the record, the blue between 2nd and 3rd made the safe call not the ump between 1st and 2nd.

It would seem that if she was out that either of the 2 other umps would have over turned the call. She may have been out ... but from my position in the stands, she looked safe.

It was a very good game and props to your team for a great game and a good tournament.

the blues knew OC. thats why the crappy makeup call on next play -after scoring single of girl who should have been out- at second for the third out on BB side. your whole side laughed it was another horrible call. remember that? was your runner really out? No, but they called it and no one on your side even entered the field to complain. everyone knew. no sour grapes, just facts. they missed a key play wont be the last not the first. definitely big play in the game but victory coulnt score with runners on is bigger issue. good pitching by the BB's. great game.

From the picture I am 100% sure that she might have made the tag but then again she could have missed it.

yeah....i feel so secure... :?

so, looking at the ocbb vs v pics, i think its all about the angle.

from the 3 pics in this post, runner looks like she has been tagged out before she reached 2nd base...
i had that same angle (behind runner going away from me) a couple weeks ago as my runner tried to score. i was pleasantly surprised when the ump called her safe...
then photofire posted some pics of the same play, from the opposite angle, and damn if she doesnt look very, very safe in those pics...

i'm referring to the play at the plate about halfway down the page...

Yeah, Doug just wins all the national championships because he knows the umpires.

Wow that's a great shot (she was out on this play).

I just sent it to her cell phone in Colorado. The reply was only two words:

"So safe".
