Yea, it looks like OC Wildcats had a brutal draw. I see some teams that qualified, that aren't nearly as good as them. Draw is HUGE!!
Go.....

Raiders,
Lakers,

OC Wildcats 2 and Q. OC Wildcats and Jets 1 and 2 at 14u State last year and neither one can get it done at State this year.
Winner's games at 4 and 6. Winners of this round qualified
Mizuno Pride vs Hurricanes
MG-Macias vs SoCal Athletics
Valley Breeze/AP vs AA's Desperados
TNL vs CA/StrikeForce
OCBB over Punishers-Rivera
Synergy vs FC/3D
BS/Renegades vs Pumas/Smash
V-USA vs CaseBB/Primetime

Watched the OCBB vs OC Wildcats and it was a great game, quite a crowd gathered. It was scoreless for the first 5 innings when the BB broke through in the top of the 6th. The game wasn't decided until the last pitch and the final score was 2-1. The Wildcats held BB to their lowest score of the entire tournament.

Tough draw, could have gone either way...

Of course you did ;)
Doesn't change my statement. Two teams that were very successful at State last year did not follow up their performance this year. All of the other details are irrelevant.

My bad, I can learn so much from your masterful observations. I thought they were just subjective comments but turns out they are the gospel regarding 16 year old girls... :geek:

Thanks and I'll hop in the back seat now and just jot down the gems on my note pad.

My apologies for inappropriate use of the "quote button." You must know with nearly 2,400 posts 18 month! :o

I'm going to leave the forum now so that I don't get caught up in the addictive world of electronic pen pals talking about teenage girls...just a little creepy, although I do find value in reporting scores and general information. I'd have to do some serious self reflection if I spent a disproportionate amount of time chit chatting and on this subject matter rather than doing something more important with my time.

Please continue passing judgment on these young ladies, it's very informative...

Some of you may find this hard to believe but ASA, most notably Julie Creps, did an outstanding job this weekend. They were always available and willing to answer any and all questions.

We played 6 games and all were on time and the umpires we had were solid.

Good job Julie. MUCH better than our experience at 14's last year.

Didn't know what to expect in Beaumont, 1st time at Noble Park facility but I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the field conditions. I know that there are some upgrades pending such as the restrooms or lack of them. But all in all I wouldn't mind going to another tourney there.
The only negative I saw was the officiating, it was horrible and inconsistant some of these umpires have got to retire because they can't get in position to make good judgement calls. Like with the DMV I think after a certain age you need to take an eye exam to remain an umpire, too much is at stake to allow for poor calls. Especially when you have 3 umps in a game and the other 2 are covering for the 1 that didn't see the play and blew the call. :o

Julie and Jay Kreps did a great job running a very smooth tournament, but I think bad weather was following them. Wind and cold the week before, and rain, wind and cold on Saturday morning. The Beaumont league crew did a great job keeping the fields up. The snack bar was great, great breakfast burrito, and parking was never a problem, just needed to be mindful on where to park as a few cars got souvenir softball dents.

1. order 1-4 then it's sets of 2 for 5.6.7.8
OC Batbusters
Corona Angles
So Cal Athletics
American Pastime
Victory USA
Fircrackers
Pumas
Renegades
Hurricanes
Puma
OC Dynasty
Mystic
So Cal 3D
2. Biggest surprise was American Pastime, young team with great attitude and I understand that the girl in the circle is a 8th grader. Is that correct? she can pitch! Another surprise would be Mystic who dropped their 1 st game and hung in the losers bracket till they qualified. Major props to both those teams.
