TCS Dancing in The Desert Schedule - Will they ever learn?

by bugs » Thu Mar 12, 2009 11:48 am

Motor homes are allowed overnight at least as of last year. Facility is first class. Fields are unbelievably good. Synthetic outfields. Not much warm up room unless you go up the the baseball field if it is not being used. Make sure and not speed as the security is tight.

Hotels in Hemet are sold out except smoking rooms/King Bed at Quality Inn - Took advice on Banning/Beaumont Hampton Inn - 15 miles away according to Mapquest. Thanks for posting - was seriously starting to stress! :D

Thought your should know. If the TCS Fast Pitch event is being played at the Oaks at Soboba, March 14-15, sports complex, teams playing there should be informed about the shooting incidents that took place there not only on the Soboba indian reservation, over the last year or so, but also about the shooting incident that took place during a Pure Stats boys baseball tournament. On the second day of the Pure Stats Baseball tournament, Sunday, shots were fired very close to the baseball fields were the kids were playing. All of the boys and participants were evacuated into the main gym and it was so bad that the boys baseball tournament was shut down that morning and all of the teams were escorted by team by team off the reservation by Tribal police. That is why there is no more boys baseball tournament events put on there by USSSA Baseball, Pure Stats, USTBA Baseball or Triple Crown Baseball.

Did you have any problem getting directions. When I used Yahoo maps it kept saying invalid address and took me to a dump on an Indian Reservation. I used Mapquest and it had the fields a few miles behind a locked gate in the back of the Indian Reservation. I guess these are new fields or something.

There might be a reason it took you to a dump  :D  :o

But seriously kids...there are actually a few good people there....no really... :? :?

Nevermind the automatic gunfire nor the cops chasing a resident by the fields and passed the guardshack...

If the Hampton is sold out, you might wanna try the Super 8. I would not be caught dead staying in any of the others. BTW, I think the park you're thinking is "Rio San Jacinto" is actually called Rancho San Jacinto Park...but I'm not sure.

It's actually a shame...the fields on the res are really, really nice. Too bad the Tribe can not control the idiots out there. Feel free to visit the Press Enterprise Newspaper's web-site and do a search. Violence, gunfire, shoot-outs with cops, deaths, and so on...

Oh yeah...if you need police help at the fields (they are past the tribal guard shack), the Deputies will be stopped at the shack and quaried as to why they are going that far. This will delay the response (if there is one) and ANY chance of successful arrest of your bad guy is gone.

A few good families out there, but WAY WAY too many idiots running crazy.

I believe it is Rancho San Jacinto Park as well. I drove over there today looking for it and this is the only field I could find. Wanted to make sure I knew where we were going. Have a 8am game

Field is on Esplanade just East of Hewitt on the left hand side.

The fields are beautiful there. If you don't like how many teams play or the location don't go. Their are gun shots everyday in so cal, I saw a gang fight in Santa Ana at a game and in Artesia.
