What's on your mind?

I've never been a fan of conference playoffs for any sport. Isn't that what the conference schedule is for?

I see your point but I like it, especially if the team I want needs a second chance ;)

Probably, my South Carolina Gamecocks. They have a pretty tough bracket, looking at the numbers.

It's not a big issue to me, but it seemed to me like the phenomenon started as a way to generate extra revenue in men's basketball. The fact that softball doesn't bring in the same money might be part of the answer to your original question.

Good luck to everyone who has a DD playing!

Maybe.....I'll predict they'll win one or at least be competitive in a couple

My mercy picks are Oakland and Texas Southern

curious to see why you think so? JMU Definitely deserved to host... i just got back from there watching my kid play in the CAA champs and both CAA teams are the real deal... and JMU's facilities are top notch! just curious as to why it's laughable?

JMU is definitely deserving IMO and NC State as well. There is a huge drop off to the other two teams (Binghamton and Fordham) who managed to gain entry by winning their Conference tourneys as pretty steep underdogs.

Maybe if only one of those two were in that regional instead of both it would be a bit more respectable.

Let's just say Oregon will have one of the easiest paths to the WS

JMU's competition is below par for #15 seed regional - RPI #32 NC St, #47 Fordham and #108 Binghamton - due to NCAA favoring proximity over ranking. Compare that to the regionals in Florida:
- #9 FSU has #15 UCF, #30 S.Car and #95 Dartmouth.
- #1 UF has #13 Hofstra and #37 FL Atl.

That's expected for a #2 seed. UF should have a similar path as the #1 seed.

So, regionals start today because BYU does not play on Sunday? What happens if they move on (they won't), will super regionals be rearranged to start a day early? While glancing at their schedule I saw that they never played on Sunday. I also noticed they are the only fully funded program in their conference, why are they in it? The WCC is one of those D1 academic conferences. Why did they leave the MW? On a positive note, Oregon will have an extra day of rest for next week and they can watch softball on TV all day on Sunday.
