Media idiots: learn the meaning of the word troop(s). A soldier is not a troop, stupid.
troop: 1 a: a group of soldiers; b: a cavalry unit corresponding to an infantry company; c: plural: armed forces soldiers

Whats funny about it - our family made the exact same choice - what schools fit her at the highest level academically - thats is exactly how we made our choice. Most everyone else I have talked to going through the same thing, did the same.

Six SEC teams in the top 22!

Not quite as many PAC-10 teams...hmm.

UCLA above USC academically and CAL above them both, really? I thought USC had that mojo attached to the degree you bring from there.. :?:

Not having a softball program will change many personal preferences, as you can get both at so many very good schools. But, a few of the positions on the list surprised me.

Slider, was that a published list or personal rankings?

I believe it was published yesterday, I saw the same rankings posted on the UT Lady Vols website last night. The SEC is coming on strong.
It's only a little skin, it'll grow back!

My bad, I left off the etymology: U.S. News & World Report, Feb. 13, 2008

Looking down the list, I see University of California—Berkeley. The city of Berkeley, and in large part the Berkeley college students, recently failed at banning the U.S. Marine Corps from recruiting there. Seems the U.S. Government suggested to Berkeley that they would pull all Federal aid from the city if the ban went into effect. Parts of this country never cease to amaze me.

Slider 201: Your list matches our projected application list in 7 years (at least the top 15)....we're hoping DD's softball skills get her application noticed at any of these schools...her grades will be similar to the other applicants at these fine institutions.
