I have a problem!!!

What's on your mind?

by jonriv » Fri Aug 09, 2013 4:14 am

My Daughter was asked by one of her College teammates to play in a 6 game U-23 round-robin tournament this weekend. This is great for her since it will be a chance to get some play in (besides the slow-pitch for the company she is interning with) She is fired-up!

The problem is that with both my wife and I out of town the past few weeks due to business travel, I have not seen my wife for almost three weeks. I told my daughter that I was not sure if I was going to get a chance to see her play. Her response was,"I can't believe you are choosing Mommy over softball!"

What should I do? The games are 1.5 hrs away. I want to see my wife, but would also love to see my daughter play. Please help :D

I just spent my 28th anniversary coaching ( 3 DD's on team ) in a 23U tourny 3 hours from my Mate ... We would usually get a room at a different motel than the team that has a jacuzzi suite, but that was not possible this time ... :( ... Assuming your wife can't make the trip, assuming you can't book a jacuzzi suite close to the fields ; you gotta see the games.

* I have missed plenty of games where I wasn't coaching though

She's a big girl now, you missing a weekend of softball should no longer be an issue.

Seriously, though I have never been in that particular situation, ( my wife hasn't worked fulltime in close to 30 years ) what we would do is meet, and find a nice hotel at the tournament site.

Kids have to know that they are a "part" of the family, not "the" family!! When the kids are gone, all you have is your spouse. You have to keep that relationship the priority. Go see your wife!!
