Softball player needs your prayers and help!

What's on your mind?

Softball player needs your prayers and help!
To the softball community:
We have a close friend, Edison High School softball player and a player with the 16u So Cal Athletics organization (catcher, of) who was involved in a skiing accident on Dec. 29th where she broke at least two of her vertebrae-C5 & C6. The result of this damage is that Natalie Buchoz was initially paralyzed from somewhere in the mid torso - down through her toes. Latest reports are she is beginning to have feeling in her toes...very good sign, however she and her family are facing a long rough road to recovery and we as a softball community are asking for help for the family

There will be a silent auction fundraiser held for Natalie at the South
Huntington Beach softball fields on February 23rd....please come by and support
Natalie's Road to recovery...we are still looking for items to auction so if any
of you have items please email ddennison@socal.rr.com for information on how to
donate...many local so cal softball teams have already created baskets by their
teams and donated and we appreciate that so much....lets have the softball
community "represented" at this auction...Thank you all in advance for your
support!

Natalie's story is on her website here...

The 14U OC Dynasty team are participating in this effort to raise funds for Natalie and her family at the friendlies they're hosting on Feb 10th at Valencia Park in Fullerton. Please stop by and contribute in the donation "bucket"! If the green and gold "Nattitude bracelets" can come in time, our players will be selling those as well to raise funds. We hope all the teams that come to the friendlies will consider contributing to this cause! We encourage other teams hosting friendlies to also "put out the bucket" for her....

Please visit her website:

Not only is it "one of our own" in the So Cal Softball Community, but her story has spread across the nation. Her guestbook is filled with words of encouragement from friends, family, college and olympic players and coaches...Thanks!

great news on natalie's journal.
she has begun moving her left big toe...
small steps, but progress nonetheless..
its been pretty cool seeing our community rally around the family.
there are so many gift baskets and alot of cool stuff local businesses have been donating. we hope alot of people can make it out on Saturday, 2/23/08, from 9am to 2pm, at the SHB fields in South Huntington Beach...

Come on out. The auction is going to be alot of fun and a great cause. This will be by far the biggest opening day for SHBGFS yet! Darlene has done an amazing job of coordinating the whole day.

Thanks to all the families who donated to Natalie's cause at the OC Dynasty friendlies this past Sunday! Keep up the spirit Nat! We also encourage folks to attend the SHB opening day and bid on some fantastic silent auction baskets! Thanks to Darlene for all the work and effort she's putting in to make that day special!

Oh, and just for the record, the "Natitude Bracelets" are hotter than Heybucket T-shirts....!
