The programs could make offers before, the kids could verbally commit, they just couldn't sign til they were seniors
Now the schools can't officially make offers until the softball player is in 11th grade, silly that some sports have different rules from others.
One of the local HS has 4 or 5 class of 2023 baseball players already committed to major D1 programs. None of it is official until NSD their senior years.....and even then, its not official for the baseball players til after the MLB draft at the end of their senior years
