tee work or pitching machine

What's on your mind?

by watcher » Sun Mar 23, 2008 8:12 pm

Well I'm going to have to say "T and Pop-up machine" as I spent most of the day today taking down the cage, Both DD's (18-gold) use only those 2 items & hit 200-250 balls a day. They haven't used the machine in well over a month and probhably only 3-4 times in the last year & I needed the space. "If you don't use it- You loose it"

I like the "Spitter" machines for the back yard, They hold around 12-15 12" balls before needing to re-load, I actually have 2 of them, One I modified to hold 50 balls (OK I'm lazy)

I have the number to call for info, PM me if you want more info

It doesn't matter either way unless it's "effective practice". If you're drilling
sub optimal swing mechanics, repitition on the tee OR on the machine will just
reinforce and program bad habits that will have to be corrected as the hitter
ages up to better pitching.

Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. This goes for tee,
machine, soft toss, front toss, self toss, live pitching or dry swings.

That is sooooooooo very true my friend, It is much harder to correct a bad habit , Than to learn one.

A young one will throw all the mechanics out the window to hit the ball either off the machine or A pitcher, It will be a struggle to keep proper mechanics at first, Be tolerant hehehe
