10U in Grand Prairie - Texas Rampage, Roughriders and 2000 Rip

Rampage and Roughriders had a couple of really good games. These two teams will see alot of each other in the future. Great job ladies.

I can speak about the 12U in Mesquite since we was there, we didn't fare so well but didn't expect to since we're just up from 10U.

Express - Best team by far; they're from East Texas. Please stay there. Watched 1st inning of their 1st bracket game and saw first 4-5 batters go shopping at the gap. They are the team to beat anytime they come this way.

Force 97 - I believe they lost their 1st bracket game and them came all the way through. Solid group of girls.

Attitude - Good team but parents leave a lot to be desired. A lot of whining. Also, get rid of the music. This isn't the circus.

U know the score of the Ole 97s/Dbat game and who won?

I was not aware that they played but if they did, Ole 97's won because Dbat were out in 2. All due respect to the Dbat that played in this tourney but they are nowhere near the quality of Dbat Allen. This leads to another question; why have 2 teams with the same sponsor playing the same age group.

I know that teams like Force, Longhorns, Legend, etc... may have 2 teams playing in the same tourney but that's because one of them has moved up in age groups.

Mansfield 16U A tournament max teams was 24, funny how the 96 Diamonds sign up for that tournament as team #18 then the tournament was changed to 17 team max.

Allen was the old 98 Rage so I assume they are supposed to be the 98 team but there are 97s on that team.

Tolan is the 97 team. No idea on what age the players are.

Remember also that Dbat has all those levels (National, Developmental, Local, etc.) I'm guessing the 97s are developmental.

Is that so? Did the Diamonds want to play? I was kind of excited when I saw a possible Diamonds/Glory matchup. Is there anything to this?

Rampage and Roughriders had a couple of really good games. These two teams will see alot of each other in the future. Great job ladies.

First of all I would like to say congrats to Rampage for winning this tournament. Two very, very good games between the RoughRiders and Rampage.

I would also like to say this... The umpires in Grand Prairie need to move to Alaska or Canada or some where far, far away. Now with that said, not one call or series of calls cost us a game, however I have never seen umpires with such a power trip in 10U softball. It is one thing to take pride in your game when your a good or bad umpire, however the power trip can be left at the parking lot. The pride comes from getting the correct call made. Changing your call to the correct call is not a bad thing.

Example: Runner attempts to steal second base. SS drops the ball on a well thrown ball from the catcher but on the slide/collision drops the ball. Base breaks away like it is designed to do. Base slides about 3 foot away towards left field. SS gathers the ball and places a tag on the runner. Umpire calls runner out because she is not in contact with the base. Umpire refuses to change the out call to safe because she is not in contact with the base and he did not call time-out. This took place in a game that was in the bottom of the 4th inning and the score was 0-0.

This is one example (however there are many from this weekend) where if the call had been changed, I doubt you would have heard a word from either side and the umpire could have stood there with his chest poked out with pride, because he made the right call.

Oh btw... this was not my team that this happened to. Again, not one call or series of calls cost us either game we played against Rampage.

Again, Congrats to Rampage, we look forward to playing you ladies again.
