Shadows second, I didn't realize they had a 12u team????

Force is a solid well-coached team.

Looking at the competition, these new 12u teams coming up from 10u had good solid competition (Showtime, Heat)

Forney has a top notch complex, no doubt about that.

I do have one question about last weekend's tournament, though. Was that supposed to be a blind draw? I don't know if it always is, or if it's ever stated anywhere.

It just seemed strange that 4-5 of the better teams were all clumped together in the winners bracket, and then they all dropped down into the loser's bracket together instead of spreading out.

That may account for why picking the winners in the tournament was a little tough.

I fully understand that to be the best you have beat the best but I would agreed with you that the bottom of the bracket was so heavily weighted with more successful (I did not say better) teams that it does appear that they set the bracket that way.

It is quite evident that the bracket was set up to have all those teams play each other early, thusly paving the way for less successful (I did not way worse) teams to advance.

But the fact of the matter is that you still need to beat everyone but it did look "odd".

What you are saying doesn't make sense when if you look at the bracket both Pride and the Shadows were in that bottom bracket...and they took 1 and 2??? If a team from the upper bracket took the tournament then I understand your point.

Yes, usually two of the better teams will get first and second, because they get through the first couple of games, and then they go through some easier games. Pride's first two games were a loss, 2-4, and then a win 5-4. Then the scores were 8-1, 11-2, 7-6, 8-0, 9-2, 10-3. I will say they did a great job fighting back to win.

once again I'm confused...you say usually two of the better teams will get first and second, so these two teams weren't "lucky" this weekend?? I mean neither were favored in the predictions that were posted... Just sayin....

Coaches and parents are always going to question the brackets. They are supposed to be a blind draw and sometimes several teams can get paired up in the same bracket that are of a high quality.

It always makes for a better tournament with some of the higher quality teams end up down in the losers bracket. This is where you find out just how tough your team is and what kind of conditioning they have to bring them all the way through to the championship.

Could be that they are not in as good a condition as they need to be or it could be that they can't ride on the arm of one good pitcher. Because she has to pitch in multiple games.

What dumb question......there is no representing at the RMcD..it is a college look...5 games and go home smart one. Unless you are there to watch every game on every field, you will not know who won when...duh!!!

You're right, my bad. Thanks for helping me better understand. I wasn't aware that there weren't any VTD ribbons being handed out which is what's really important. Have fun watching your kid in D-III
