This next week will be a slow week for softball , then ASA will no longer be posted on VTD. We will lose all our intel especially with the age groups that we are not real familiar with. so since everyone completely missed on the Forney tourney, who won?? was anyone there that weekend? What happened to those favored teams??

I was at the tourney and from what I saw, it was evenly matched throughout with very few blowouts. The top 3 played the best and deserved where they finished but if you were to tell me that Showtime, Legend, and Heat would be done by noon on Sunday I'd say no way. The fall will be interesting to watch because you now have a mix of the best 10U teams combined with the mid-level 12U teams which should make for good games throughout. I would venture a guess and say that the 3 teams mentioned above won't place top-5 in every tourney like they've been doing but I would also say that the current 12U teams have some tough competion ahead of them. Every week could see a new team emerge as the contender for next year's top team honors.

On a somewhat related note though, this was a top notch, well run tournament. The complex is great and Forney should be proud of what they built. I would take this tournament over any tournament at Craig Ranch or any other money whore that want to charge you money to get in just to watch your own kid play.

The 12U division will be very competitive with a lot of really good teams. To early to tell who will be the teams to beat, but I have my favorites and they will do well from what I have seen. I also have to agree with you on the Forney complex. They do an excellent job, very spacious complex and very good people. Unfortunatley for Craig (Glory) Ranch, it is just a bad design layout for what should be a top notch softball complex.
