What's on your mind?

Although I don't know you, or at least if I do I don't know that I do, I have read so many posts over the years that I feel like I know you. I have always thought your posts were well done and some of the hitting talk I found to be very interesting.

For all of the reasons previously stated and others I prefer that college players not return after they go to college but I also think there are things such as our younger kids facing them that are good.

On the other side, does it really promote the growth of the college player? Would she not be better served playing against people further along in the game than her level?

One of the things I believe would happen if there were no such kids in GOLD is that the 23U, which is now a wasteland, would grow to be significant.

Time will tell but I know we hope to incorporate an older college-friendly Divison once we get the first tournament off the ground.

And I definitely think there is value to younger girls being able to faceoff against college girls

I agree it is a great benefit for the high school players.

My DD's Gold team had the opportunity to play several weekends in 23U or Women's Open. Great experience playing these older girls (Ladies?). Hurricanes in particular were the kind of practice games that were invaluable. I can only imagine what a division made up of a bunch of teams of that caliber would look like.

If such a division existed, teams could still play up in friendlies for the experience. But not have to face them in the qualifiers and Nats. Win-win!

The hilarious usage of "chillax" in Superbad exempts it from all "Most Retarded Award" considerations.

I would expect you of all people to know this McLovin.

Hey, Gary, thanks for the kind words. Wish you were able to post more on the boards yourself, as your perspective is unique and enjoyed by all.

We have certainly casually met, when the NorCal Shockers (I've been an assistant coach for Paul for 4 years, but am about done now) have played the Batbusters. And we've talked briefly on occasion. If you are so inclined, you can see my picture on the Sorcerer Academy web site, as I work at Phil's place when I give lessons.

I really want to see 23U expanded as well. It looks as if the Shockers are forming a 23U team next year. My daughter, who will be a sophomore playing for Ferrin at LMU, plans to play on that 23U team next summer. Almost certainly, she would have done so this PAST summer if the opportunity had been there. As I said, college freshmen in 18G is a close call for me. In my perspective, there are some benefits. In counterbalance, I think you have very well stated the reasons why it is less than ideal.

Best regards,

Scott

The women's league coming out of norcal seem to be picking up more and more steam. That is very encouraging. At something I went to they did a little presentation on it. Maybe it was the regional meeting. I'd like to see it expand too.

Scott,

We have played the Shockers many times and they have come to the tournaments for many years even before there were Surf City Tournaments. I like Paul and the teams have always competed with class. I am sure I have seen you along the way.

I would like to post more but I often don't have the time as the discussions tend to be never ending with so many to give their opinions. When told of all the comments about Premier I just wanted to explain a little of what it is and what it isn't and I ended up spending hours because I am a truly bad typist. I have tried all manner of voice-recognition software but I have never found one that works real well no matter how much I train it.

I would like to see a good situation develop for 19-23/25 year olds, many of our ex-players still love to play but they are completely turned-off by what is available in adult SB.

Next time you are around at the tournaments or an LMU game maybe we can talk.

I will absolutely make a point of saying Hi, Gary.

Kind of stepping back a little from the Shockers this year, and plan to spend more time with instruction at Phil's place. But I didn't miss many LMU games last season, and don't plan to miss many this year, either. It would be great to see you out there as you have opportunity (especially now that a couple of ex-BB kids are on the team). And I know Ferrin would love to see you.

Wishing you the absolute best with the PGF tournaments Gary.

Reagrds,

Scott

Weird, I don't remember that. Maybe I subconsciously refused to acknowledge its use in order to preserve the sanctity of the film in my mind.

But working hard on a lowly new rep as an asshat, one apparently unable to cope with the idea there might an exchange of civil discourse here on HB.
