Are you crazy saying that we gave N Korea and Kim attention. That's like saying we gave Bin Laden/Al Queda attention by going to war after thhe attacked the U.S.. Your logic confuses me here.

You'd have to work hard to come up with a more inapt analogy. And logic usually does confuse those who fail to employ it.

Saddam, who violated 17 U.N. resolutions prior to the war that disposed him, personally indicated that he did not believe that the U.S. would actually attack, or that at most they would attack and then withdraw (which concerned him not at all). The clear implication, and obvious logical deduction, is that he would have conducted himself differently had he understood what was about to happen to him. Our war with Iraq was necessary not because Bush was some cowboy aggressor, but rather because the regimes before him, including Bush Sr., gave Saddam no reason to believe that the U.S. would actually act decisively to protect its interests. THAT is what leads to war.

Compare that with Reagan, who made his policies and intentions quite clear; mess with the U.S. and you will pay the price. 444 days the hostages remained in Iran under Carter. Days under Reagan...1. Those savages aren't stupid.

I have no sympathy for those people that voluntarily put themselves in harms way, then get caught, and then cry for help to bail them out. What the hell where they doing there in the first place? Maybe Al Gore knows what they where doing since they work for him. Perhaps he should get the bill for their return, or maybe he can be charged under some violations of the labor laws pertaining to employee welfare.

I mean, they stupidly put themselves in harms way....no logic there. You spout about freedoms, yet the very basis of freedom is reporting travesties that occur throughout the world such as these two women did. How can you say they deserved to go away for 12 years? I suppose anyone who puts themselves in a dangerous situation (police, firemen, inner city public school teachers all deserve to be hurt since they chose to serve the public in this dangerous capacity.
