I am the child of an immigrant. Same along the lines of Spaz. By the way the Nazi thing is getting so over used anymore (anyone see Joan Rivers call Annie Duke a Nazi?) STOP IT!

My "peeps" came legal and did not have the luxury of pressing a button for their native language, two sided forms and street signs in their language nor every other freebie that we are now handing over. In our home we spoke their language (less and less over time) but in public we were taught to speak the language Americans speak because we were Americans. Learn it use it period. Of COURSE we were forced to assimilate....why not? We are now at the point of having a country within a country. You want to talk racist, what is that....are we Americans or not? Be proud of where you come from, nothing wrong, but remember you are an American not a hyphen...for the love of...

You break it, you buy it...the system is a mess because of our apathy, lack of enforcement and abuse on both sides of our nearest borders. We have become so PC and smarmy that we bought it all. Anytime you disagree with this garbage you are labled a racist....who's a nazi now

All kidding aside I will be sure to share this info with my mom the next time she is sharing the story of how when she was 13 she had to sneak through the forests of Germany at night to escape from the Nazis in WWII. I would share it with my aunts and uncles as well, but unfortunately, they did not make it out.

So you see...we actually do have some similarites in our family backgrounds. It was no picnic for my grandparents when they left their war torn homes in central Mexico on foot during the height of the Mexican Revolution (approx. 1914-1915). Different war, but our parents/grandparents still had to go through the same ugly, scary sh*t so that me and you could grow up here and hopefully have it better than they had it. Do you think Skarp might consider that "upward mobility"..?
