Props to the coach for letting the girls make the decision.
The decision was made at the beginning of the season when the schedule was handed out and fee's were paid. The coach found a way to get out of a decision he regretted.
Just thought I should also say, I like the coach and think he's trying his best I just don't agree with changing a schedule when you get to the critical part of the season.
What about the players that wanted to go to nationals, nationals was on the schedule but now they don't even get to try? Seems to me they have every right to feel like they got short changed.
Missinit,
I think your missing it (the point that is). The coach let the team decide. He didn't make the decision the girls did. Plans and schedules can change. I can see where a coach would put it to a vote after playing in a few qualifiers and the team not making the cut.
Why pay the big bucks for Nationals just to get your backsides handed to ya? He put it out to the team and they voted. I guess they (the girls) were probably were thinking the same thing. Sorry you were on the losing end of the vote, but it goes that way sometimes. Remember, "the best laid plans of mice and men."
Nationals, in our case, is actually half the distance as Westerns. We could drive to Nationals, we have to fly to Westerns.
I suppose you could have a good argument from either side.
The team hasn't been doing bad, They beat some good teams and lost to some teams they probably should have beat.
I think playing the better teams they would have seen at the qualifiers would be good for them and if they didn't qualify at least they get to face some good competition to help get them ready for Westerns.
If you show no mercy... you deserve no mercy!
