1998 ~10U~ Houston Metro top 10 {R.I.P 08-04-2009}

Pearland Panthers 98

Texas Blaze (round Rock)

Sugarland Smash 99

All earned berths at State but no word on if they plan to attend. My personal opinion for what it's worth Tx Sting 98 is passing up a great opportunity if they choose USFA over ASA. even though they will see the same local competition in FL they will kick themselves for not going to TN when TPS does well there because they'll know they could have been right there in the mix. I'd take top 5 @ asa over 1 or 2 at USFA anyday.

I have a room booked in Florida, We haven't qualified ASA yet, But I would cancel my beach front condo for a mountain chateau in a minute if my DD's Coaches decided to travel north east. Personally and again just my opinion I think USFA is great for a first year team in the various age groups or as a a fall back if you fail to quailify but ASA is the place to play the best. We all can agree that TX and CA are the Fastpitch hot beds. Look at how many CA teams are coming to FL it's just like TCS for them in Utah look how many TX teams go there. USFA and TCS are more like a regional series while ASA draws the best from everywhere and is a true national event.

The ;) Birth ;) is offered to each team in the order they placed until it is accepted. My understanding from a So Cal post was that you had to accept then and there and pay the entry fee. I also heard that if you receive the berth and pass up the berth you are black listed next year and can not receive a berth. I'm sure in Texas we roll a little different but those may be ASA rules.
