Hammer - Saw the pic you posted of your daughter pitching " I am assuming since you posted", looks great. Do not get to see alot of 10U ball, how fast is she throwing. Every year these girls get better and better at a earlier age. Keep up the hard work and good luck the rest of the season.

You are correct about the level of play getting better every year at a younger age. This is our second go round, my oldest is fifteen and the level of play compared at this age is much better now. Thanks for the complement she works very hard on her pitching. Her speed has improved this year since she has really started using her legs. We have clocked her with several different devices ( hand held gun, glove radar ) It seems to range from 48 mph to 54 mph when she is really in her grove. When she is in games it seems to be right around 48 to 52 constantly. I don't think the speed is why she has had a little success more to do with control and having different pitches and keeping batters off balance. The speed doesn't hurt, at 35ft you need to make a quick decision if it is a strike or not. :D

Like I said Hammer your team has the best pitcher/catcher combo in 10u. Every time I get to watch a game it seems like the pitcher/catcher are having a good time. It also appears that they have good communication skills with each other. How long have they been playing together( 3-4 years guessing)? The team as a whole appears to be very fluid and happy all the time (parents too). I never see any crying or outburst. The coaches are always very professional on and off the field. You’re lucky to be a part of it. At first, I thought you were a coach but you just coach your daughter. On another note, after watching this past tourney things are going to get very interesting when the top 3 or 4 get together again.
Hammer you asked earlier about my daughter trying out "been there and done that" My daughter tried out for the peppers last year but was turned down because Dewy handpicked all Daddy ball players and now look what he's ended up with LMAO. Anyway she ended up on another team that folded so now i'm left looking. I’m ready for the weekend we'll see what it brings us!

Yes it is a unique situation. I have been around the block with travel ball, having an older daughter. Nothing would surprise me with travel ball. I have seen some wrecks. This has been the best experience with any club sport we have been involved with. The coaches know the game and respect it, and know how to teach it. The parents respect the coaches and each other. This has been a awesome experience for our whole family. This team is for real, win or lose it is a close knit family and getting closer as the season goes on. Parents show suport for every girl on the team as if they were their own. I wish more girls were able to have an experience that our daughter has had with this team. It seems you have a good eye when it comes to recognizing a great team. As for our pitcher/catcher, they have been togther for only six months but you are right. This group seems like they have played together for years. I have a really good feeling about the next couple of weeks. This team is starting to peak and boy what a good time to hit your stride. Like I said I always like an underdog in the big ones!
