Just wanted to say "THANKS"!!!

We got our money back. And yes blu there is more to this story than what you've been told. Maybe I'll tell you about someday soon.

Sincerly,

You deserved nothing. Your coach is a fool for giving you anything back.

Probably worth it to get her to stop yelling ...

Two rules for everyone to remember.

One: The Grass Is Not Always Greener.
Two: Don't Burn Any Bridges. (especially in a small softball community)

If things are done right, nobody's feelings get hurt.

Leaving mid-season? How about mid-game?
A couple weeks ago at a tournament, the P was struggling with the zone so the coach went out to pull her. By the time she got to the dugout, mom and dad had packed up their chairs and blankets and told her "let's go!" She protested, to no avail, and off they went, gone before the next P was done warming up!
Not pretty.
And in 14u no less, where you would expect the parents to have "matured" in TB well beyond the point of acting like 10u parents! ;) ;)
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

At an 18G exposure tournament the #3 pitcher and her parents (just the parents?) decided she would quit and leave that night because midway through they felt it was grossly unfair that she had pitched only 1 of the first 4 games. Genius move. I was disappointed. My kid is an outfielder and when that kid pitched it gave my kid plenty of chances to show whatever defensive ability she had. I treasured her time in the circle. The parents of that pitcher probably thought they were harming the team. Good thing they weren't around to hear the laughing the next day.

What makes this story even better was that the family actually moved from the east coast to SoCal so that she would be best positioned for recruitment by top college softball programs. The kid is now playing for a college very near her hometown on the east coast. Seems rather likely that she would have been recruited by them if the family had never moved away.

Mind if I throw a wrench in these works?

What is the general mindset if the kid who left mid season is the kid of a coach who was asked to step down? Good coach, just a better one was asked to step up?
