Pants or Shorts

Hel i wont even read all the post. I like pants over shorts. How the hell do you slide in shorts without tearing your butt up?

Pants, 100%!! And, the parents had cocerns about white pants(the "girl" thing and the dirt). They said they would be too hard to get clean. We had 3 pairs of pants. White, black, and grey. At 1st, white was taboo. But, after the 1st time wearing, they became the favorites. Oh yea. At 1st, I also got the "pants are too hot to wear" line. Now, thats funny. Little boys, and men alike have been wearing pants in baseball forever. Girls arent gonna melt. Besides, after sliders, socks, knee pads, there is about 2 inches of skin showing. How much cooler is that? The good thing is, the girls get to go to school with those funky tan lines. They LOVE that....

The teams can actually mix shorts and pants. It doesn't have to be either or.

DD uses pants all the way. Again, it was the tan line thing with her.. And no more smelly knee pads..

The DD will do shorts or pants without slowing down on any slide attempt. I think shorts are a good summer option, but I agree that the smell of a well used sliding pad is pretty vile. Almost as bad as the old soccer shin guards which stunk enough to stop a train.

Can someone please explain sliding pads AND pants? Seems excessive and bulky.

Those pads are protection from line drives. I know girls are sliding on them, but they need to learn to slide without them.

Sliding is a lost art among the girls. I never had a hard time teaching boys. But girls act goofy (sometimes) about it. I see girls that their whole foot, ankle, knee, thigh, hip and arse hits the dirt. It's no wonder they need pants on. A guy just doesn't slide like that.

DD couldn't wait to get their pants! I just wish coaches would realize that white is not a good option for the girls. Here we have that damn red/orange clay and it's a pain to get those stains out. I don't like the long pants, but the normal to the knee ones just look sharper. Most of the short uniforms remind me too much of basketball. JMO

To get rid of the stains, fill your washing machine with HOT water and put about 3 scoops of OxyClean in with the water and clothes. Soak for about 3 minutes and then wash them. Pants come out great!!! I had two after the Laughlin tournament, which some of the parents can tell you the clay was very red, and not being able to wash them for 3 days, the clay came right out. The socks were a different story, the clay stayed in there pretty good.

OxyClean really works though!!!

There's a laundry detergent wife says works really well and it is called BIZ. I think she soaks it in BIZ and then washes with it.

Pants for sure! My daughter won't even consider wearing shorts after wearing pants.

Missouri, pants make more sense than shorts. This is why most people wear pants to
the beach or to 4th of July picnics.
