The overuse injuries will begin to raise their heads pretty soon, especially with the pitchers' arms and the catchers' knees.
Would you wait for a study to limit your kid's time on video games?
If you are saying that the burnout occurs at 16's and 18's when the girls realize there are sacrifices in their social lives, then what difference would it make if they started TB at 10u or first yr. 12u? Don't the girls who start TB at 14u also discover a social life at 16's and 18's?
Just because your kid suffered an injury, allegedly due to overuse, that gives you the right to dictate to everyone else how their kid should proceed?
That video game analogy was so weak it does not deserve a response.
In the future, why don't you just state your opinion and leave it at that. Stop bashing everyone else who happens to disagree with you on a topic where there is no obvious right or wrong.
Not that Sam needs any help here because he can take care of it himself but give me a break....The OP asked for opinions and he gave it....If not for personal experience in life WTF else would there be.....Mine came from personal experience as well.....Until you've been on all sides and not just on a parents side I would hold judgement....
I too, have been a parent obviously as well as rec and current travel manager, VP of local Rec league for 2 years and coordinator for 2 years in Rec league as well, plus had a daughter with burn out issues.....IMHO that makes me qualified enough to answer a post that is asking a question as it would make Sam or anyone else that has been up through the ranks....
To question that his daughter was injured due to ALLEGED over use injuries implies that he is lying......How ridiculous!
