I do envy my friends that are runners. I have 2 younger relatives that are into 1/2 marathons.

Thanks for the encouragement (?) from all of you. I have yet to convince hubby that I really need to join a men's team. We'll see.

Amy, you come across as someone who asks forgiveness after, not permission before. When I played that stuff, I am talking fatboy slowpitch, the real trick was hitting far enough to get to 1st without danger, and not far enough to tempt the guys to push me to go two. There was a league for over 50, but I was disinvited because of being what they called 'too aggressive'. wth?

Here is the update. I got an e-amail form the coach and evidently he has googled my name. Now, he says that the team can use my hitting and pitching advice.

OK. If there are a bunch of men that want to take hitting advice from me, I want to see it.

I told him to let me know when the next practice is.

"OK, men, do you think that your back elbow should be up or down or in the slot?"

Just wait until I tell them that their hands are not part of the bat.
