Why not release her ?????

I don't know both sides of the story but what I do know you have a player who is not playing and does not want to play with the team she's on. Has a chance to join another team, get playing time and wants to play for them.. The team she is leaving will not release her from their PGF roster so she cannot play PGF with anybody else. Why would you do this ? I thought this was about the girls and not about some coach who for some reason wants to stop a player from being happy.

You are correct this could even be the same team and same coach. Is it a self center all about him and how much money I will be losing coach. I never knew one girl could be that good that you would be afraid she might knock you out of the PGF. Karma I believe in Karma and some day in same way he will get what's coming to him.

All I can say is that there are always 2 sides to the story. But for a coach to not release the player, sounds to me that there is likely more to the story. Karma is a b_tch and its goes both ways. I'm not taking sides here cuz I know nothing other than to say the truth generally lies somewhere in between. I always wonder how it is a coach takes a kid and then doesn't play her. That to me suggests other motivations. could just be petty pissing contest, or could suggest something else, Just saying.

I'm wondering how different your answer would be if this coach did release the kid, she joined the new team, and immediately took your kid's position.

The kid needs to stay with the team and show the coach she is working hard to take a position. If she isn't playing, she has nobody to blame but herself.

meaning that players/parents would know ahead of time that they could not change teams after a certain date.

This way PFG rosters would be solidified way before PGF Championships and we wouldn't have teams trying to bolster their rosters with other girls on teams that did not qualify.

Players are locked to a roster once a team submits a roster with that player on it for a PGF qualifier. So not specifically a date.

Qualifiers for 12's and 14's start as early as 3/21. 16's and 18's it is more around 6/1. Returning/Invited rosters are locked on 6/13.

A while back, I was thinking a date might make all this more clear to parents. It would be very hard to set a specific date based on the above timelines for when teams might play in qualifiers. I do not think the issue is about parents getting surprised to find themselves locked to a roster.

Hmmm.... Are you running away from back dues that are owed? Are you current with dues? The combination of being behind on dues and daughter not playing like you wanted her to help make this decision? What is the real reason? Yes, there are 2 sides to every story. How about, why wait until the 11th hour and leave the team hanging out to dry? If she was not playing much that move should have been made long ago. If the team brought on a girl that stands to play over her then she should be released. Otherwise, you are teaching a bad life lesson.
