There are plenty of situations where female athletics are discriminated against. We should 100% be encouraging these people to stop worrying about someone else's ass sitting in a better seat. Instead they could look in the 100 mile radius of Plymouth and find many schools that actually need real title IV help.

The point and intent of the law is about female athletes getting opportunities. Having dad sit on a perfectly fine seat, only slightly less elevated, has nothing to do females getting opportunities.

Meanwhile I'll make my agendas perfectly clear...I like posting about controversial subjects that generate passionate discussion that gets lots of responses and page views. I like hearing other peoples reasoning including yours and I like posing ethical questions. That is my agenda.

My agenda is getting the facts right.

At this point the school district agreed to fix prior to a decision.

If the school board chose not to comply- they risk a law suit and possibility of losing Federal funding.



As to AI- the seats/bleachers fall under "facilities." and Title IX requires that the facilities be comprable. We probably all agree that the seats certainly do not rank high under importance, but under the law when it received the complaint the OCR had little choice to rule the facilities were unequal. I feel bad for the parents involved. There are certainly more deserving and important cases for the OCR to review

Sure they did. They could have ruled "no one cares". How come you "must" stretch the law to cover the butt hurts? I see nothing that justifies that, except butt hurt whining. It is the butt hurt whiners that got it stuck back in their own butts when the reasonable's involved disassembled the seating area. Now everyone knows who the butt hurts are and their agenda.

Let's look at a different level.

let's say a college- both softball and baseball teams have beautiful fiels, dugouts etc. All of the on field things are pretty much the same. Let's say the womens facility has a couple of bleachers, but the baseball filed is a mini stadium with concessions, parking etc...

Would not the perception be that the school valued(favored) baseball(men) over softball(women)??

That's the issue here. It may not have any effect on the play in the field, but it is part of the facility. Facilities are covered under the law-no stretch needed
