So please chime in if you know of any not-so-obvious, really bizarre behavior we should look out for from coaches.

I think that's a bit extreme. I would prefer to think that the cruisers try this again this summer but this time the umpire has been taking anabolic steroids and growth hormones. This time he catches the ball barehanded..... Then throws the ball back to the pitcher launching her into centerfield..... Tosses the catcher by the face mask into the crowd striking her parents and rendering them unconscious..... Beats Mel with a fungo then scales the backstop, rips off his chest protector revealing a Powered by Mizuno t-shirt.......JMO

What is the punishment? What have we all learned?

A). Don't intentionally throw at an umpire if the game is being recorded because.......nothing will happen to you? You will still get to coach on an elite organization team and continue to coach however the hell you wish.

That'll show him.

The sport hasn't disciplined bad actors in the past and it has lead to this barbaric display. The governing bodies can ban this coach, suspend him,put him on some type of probation......something, for Christ's sake. Similarly, the team could take action........God save us all.....the PARENTS could take action and walk away from the team.

Blaming the umpires for taking some minuscule level of futile action because they don't see anyone else doing a thing to punish the coach is laughable. They are simply filling an obvious void.

500,000 views on YouTube may only result in a recruiting bonanza. The scorn of the softball community isn't so powerful.

Not sure if you're really asking me what I think the punishment should be, but I'm the wrong guy to ask - I don't claim to know enough about this particular case. I do agree that there should be some consequence to him for this. My opinion would be that it should depend on his past history, and should include no input from the court of public opinion (except maybe on the org's end, as they have a program to maintain). If this is part of a bigger problem, then maybe he should be banned. If it's an outlier, then probation is probably sufficient.

What did we learn? Hopefully we learned/remembered/reinforced that we adults should not act like a d-bags in our involvement in a kids' game. That goes for coaches, umpires, and parents alike. In my opinion there was some of this exhibited by all of the parties involved in this incident, and it escalated to the embarrassing conclusion.

The answer is that nothing is being done about this and nothing will be done. We have learned nothing because the organizations that run this sport have no balls and apparently don't give a shit about their players or game officials. Feel free to continue assaulting umpires everybody! It's open season!

Thank you, Sam. It really is quite simple...there is the truth and those that choose to close their eyes to the truth.

Like you I am eyes wide open.

Who knows for sure, but here are some things to watch out for:

- When a player steals a base, she actually steals the base. This will lead to an acute shortage of bases, giving rise to a thriving black market where Base Futures on the CBOT go through the roof, and dozens of families (and las familias) from Downey to Corona will start adding second stories, backyard BBQ pits, and dog fighting arenas to their homes.

- watch for coaches who bury IEDs under second and third base, and just blow the legs off any opposing player in scoring position. The injuries won't be a problem because Obamacare is here to fix everything. And the shortage of good players means that kids who can't get past first base will now be getting full rides to college. So the glass is half full, but still, keep a close eye on coaches that struggle in PGF qualifiers, and who can't get their kids recruited; especially if the coach has a military background, is in law enforcement, or smokes pot. (Stoners love explosions!) In other words, keep an eye on everybody.

- if you have a stud pitcher, be on the lookout for snipers on nearby rooftops and old growth forests. They might be shooting frozen peas at the back of your pitchers thigh while she's in mid-delivery, causing her crow hop to expand to a full-blown goose step. Opposing runners will get loads of free bases, your team will lose by even more than normal, and your studs scholarship will disappear as her K/BB ratio goes upside-down and strains the limits of credibility, while opposing fans taunt her with Sieg Heil salutes and Jay-Z anthems. It could get ugly out there.

Those are just three, and probably obvious to everyone. So please chime in if you know of any not-so-obvious, really bizarre behavior we should look out for from coaches. Because it's open season now, and we need to circle the wagons against the coming horde of super-villain coaches.

Alas, here is the proof that the community has learned absolutely nothing and why the community is overly populated with bad actors.

One need only look at today's national headlines to see where the trivialization of bad behavior has gotten our society.

Get your pitchfork out and run him off. Call his boss at his work. Call his kids college coach and 'inform' her of his moral offenses. Go get that jtat and skarp guy while you are at it. Time to go nuclear for sure.

Gosh, I hope you have the same reaction when a coach slaps the shit out of your kid or grandchild because he knows people like you won't do a thing.
