Ever since we switched to Mizuno, seems like at least once a year.

What was the hottest bat you have ever seen? (assuming it wasn't doctored)

Whatever bat that (now Freshman in HS) girl was swinging at the SDSU camp last month. I was told by another dad who was also a coach that the bat she was using was a few years old and was outlawed for being too hot. Sorry I can't remember what it was. :?

I have NEVER seen a ball jump off of a bat like that.

Along those lines...do you think college coaches are aware of these things or do you think they get duped?

No Fastpitchdad05...college coaches never fall for these kinds of tricks nor do they ever regret recruiting girls early because it's easy to tell in the 8th grade how good a girl's going to be when she's 18...duh.

Did it surprise anyone at all how abruptly Fastpitchdad05 killed this previously vibrant and thriving topic?

Not my problem!

How can I raise $6000 to pay for mydaughters travel expenses for this summer? We can't all live in Cali where all the good tournaments are played:)

Call HAZMAT, we have a train derailment here.

Not our problem! BTW, there are good tournaments/showcases all over the country (e.g. Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, Texas, Chicago, etc.) and SoCal teams travel to all of them.

I'd say a snowball's chance in hell was an accurate description - no chance after I read about the changes wrestling made after they were excluded from the core 25 sports.

Should PGF institute bat testing - at least at their Nationals?

Why not it doesn't hurt anything. The bats are donated to the teams so it's not like they are coming out of pocket for anything.

I really do need some suggestions on how to raise the $6000 for travel expenses this Summer. I mentioned Cali as one of the many stops on their tournament schedule. They go all over the country. I just need to figure out how to pay for it....Baller on a budget! Someone please help this momma:)

Answer: Go to another team, you are paying way too much, even breaking it down it's $500 a month for 12 months. That is more than a car. Do not know if this is just dues or yearly cost. You can find a way to save money, cut out lessons and have to practice on her own. Cut out TV, cut out lunch, cut out drinking, get with parents and pull together to cut expenses.
Question: Will these colleges who verbal kids before HS benefit or regret it in future?

A few will have hit it out of the park. I think UCLA scored big time with Garcia, who could have easily verballed prior to HS after her performance at PGF. Most, however, could probably do better if they had waited. I think the risk for most is overuse by the time their prized recruits get there.

My picks are Tenn, Wash, Florida and Mich/Neb.
