Those who know me know that I agree with softballmomz77 100%! And I have been known to be at the ballpark without the hubby from time to time...But an hour and a half - that's definitely close enough to drive out for a very nice dinner with the "better half" as joemcq51 suggests!

And to me, the chance to watch your DD play will be gone too soon. Enjoy it while you can - if you can work it out, have the DW join you...

Curious, does the wife like watching softball or is it a "only daughter and Dad" thing? If she likes softball, no problem, tell her to meet you at the ballpark. Maybe entice the deal with the wife and offer to buy whatever she wants from the snack bar.

DW likes to watch games( once she is there). She view non-college games as meaningless. To add to the equation I am driving 4 hrs tonight and then 4 again on Sunday-I am off on business all next week too

What the heck, you only live this moment in time once. DD played on a 23U team this summer and we came to every game. I was surprised at how many parents came to watch, maybe because they know they are on final countdown and there is not that many remaining games left in their daughter's career (as compared to their whole softball career). 23U was very enjoyable to watch because they were on the field because they wanted to, it was their choice. I compared it to sandlot ball with real good players, very loose and a lot of smiles.

Sorry, I am not helping......I hope you and your wife can make the schedule work. You can catch-up on sleep when you get back to work on Monday.
