What I think the press is finally understanding is the "Chicago Politics" influence in Washington. That every thing is viewed from the perspective of political leverage. If there was direct invovlment or not by the White House, they have nutured the culture that allowed(if not condoned) it to happen
My hope is that we(the Republicans) let it play out and don't overplay our hand. The less Political the republicans are on this the worse the administration will look and the more support they will lose.

Agreed. I don't affiliate with any individual 'party' due to my divergent personal beliefs on the myriad issues, but you are correct. Unfortunately for your party, it seems inevitable that they will overplay their hand. Again. They seem incapable of exercising restraint when the end-results would be far superior to what they get when they get hysterical. I don't get it. Very smart people with many valid positions, but they often seem to derail into derision and personal attacks, which tends to undermine their credibility. This Pub Board on HB has some examples of that. You can't help but realize that the same 6-8 posters feed off of each other in a frenzy of anti-Dem discussions. Are their points valid? Of course they often are. Are they sometimes illogical and extreme? Yes. God Bless the First Amendment. But, what I often wonder as I read The Pub, is, are some of the posters here capable of reasonable discourse with others who have different views of the world? Are they aware that no one posts rebuttal to their statements? Do they wonder why that is? I assure you it isn't because everyone agrees with them. I suspect that it is because most HB members simply don't read the Pub threads, or because most have concluded that reasonable discourse isn't an option here. Which IMO is too bad.

I don't let my kids get away with "They started it" and I certainly expect more from my politicians. Acting like them makes you as bad as them
