I heard he is a free agent. With him "coming out" mean someone will be forced to pick him up?
Do you suppose the NBA will institute the “Hate Foul”? Or will they call it the “flamboyant Foul”?

Collins & his twin both went to my DD's HS (they then went to Stanford) where oddly enough just a few weeks ago a former "out" pro basketball player addressed the school about his struggle & coming to terms with his sexuality.

News crews were all over the school yesterday. The out going Pres of the school Tom Hudnut (see LA Times Varsity insider column) addressed both local & national media with a "he done right" quip

Probable Nobel Prize headed his way. We certainly know one who has done less and received the award.

CBS idiot Scott Pelley called it “A Jackie Robinson moment.” on his coming out. Whatever.......
Jackie Robinson was a great baseball player, no comparison.....

Obviously no Jackie Robininson. 42 broke the color barrier before the civil rights movement. Probably the most interesting thing about thisguy "coming out" is for the most part it's no big deal.

A colleague at work went to Harvard Westlake with him. He told me he was always a super nice and humble dude. Good for him, he's gay and proud. I guess he went to high school with actor Jason Segel as well (see the link below).

Jackie Robinson moment, hell no, not even close! Most people these days are accepting of gay rights. What I do have a problem with is people like Dolphins Receiver Mike Wallace getting crap for just saying he doesn't understand it. What, heterosexual men can't say that they love women and don't see why dudes want to be with dudes? I ask myself this simple question, "How can one man look at another man's hairy a$$ and say, oh yeah". Thus, I don't get it either but good luck to Jason Collins and his family. I've followed him from high school and he does seem like a good dude.

After listening to his comments I wonder, is he going to call the rest of the NBA players and congratulate them for being hetro? or does his praise only apply to gay players? What does it matter what a person does behind closed doors? I don't want to know, why should we know, yuck.

NBA Career not paying you like you thought? Come out and rake in the dough as a historic figure who told the world about your sexual preference. Pathetic! Who cares what you do off the court. As long as your doing it with consenting adults no big deal. This will just be another media circus disguised as a coming out party. Just another puppet.
