I think it is SOOOOO perfect that she was presenting at this event. This is a president and a family who wants....and frankly seems to NEED to be seen and heard all the time. they are cut from the same sheet. they want to be seen and heard so much so that they can distract us from all the things they are doing to dismantle the greatness of this country and all the stuff they continue to neglect (like our balloning debt) that they have no intention of addressing.

this pres says one thing and does something else....routinely, and for some reason as a country we still actually believe the crap he spews. So to me....I wasn't even a little surprised that this lady found her way in front of yet another camera....it's the ONE thing they actually do well. Look into the camera and tell stories.... pathetic. Never more embarrassed as an american, especially one that served in our armed forces willingly and dutifully.

From Daily Caller's Lapdog media seeking lap to lay on

Politico argues that Obama’s “mastery” involves avoiding tough questions at all costs by creating his own information-delivery system: through White House blogs, tweets, photos, videos and interviews with outlets that have little duty to report news — see “The View,” “The Daily Show” and, alarmingly, “60 Minutes,” for example.

Allen and VandeHei admit that such a strategy is “an arguably dangerous development,” but given the circumstances, that’s a shockingly tepid criticism of a White House that’s utilized this approach since day one. Having a system where the government controls the delivery of information about itself isn’t much better than having a state-controlled media.

Thats a bit over the top in the sense that we dont have anywhere near a state controlled media. People are free to report as they see fit. Every POTUS had tried to control the message.

He didn't suggest we have a state-controlled media. The point is they don't have to control the media because they bypass them completely. The media is left playing catch-up because the message is already out.

I understand, but the reference is still a poor one. Having spent time in a country where the media is an arm of the government, these types of over exaggerations bother me.

The media created this problem because many chose to stop being journalists a longtime ago, instead opting to be standard bearers. Bob Woodward is one of the exceptions. The upside of this is that the Obamas, by pushing the wrong person too far, may have helped some of the press find their spine once again.

I seriously doubt this will have any impact on the administration or the way they are viewed by the general public. Most of BO's base won't hear about it or the others won't care. I will be pleasantly surprised if this results in anything meaningful.

I agree there is a liberal bias to MSM, but the downward spiral of journalism is mainly due to the proliferation of news sources, economics (i.e. declining newspaper ads, circulation and TV news ratings) and an ever-shortening news cycle. News is not consumed like it was before and people on average have a much shorter attention span.
