Onex recall

What's on your mind?

by 29dad » Thu Feb 21, 2013 12:58 pm

I have seen this on a couple of other sites. Can't confirm that it is legit, although i went on the LS website and found that i was unable to order a Onex.

Complete Recall..will be banned by LS request..

Subject: URGENT information regarding oneX
Importance: High

Coach,

In executive team discussions early this week about durability concerns regarding the oneX, we’ve been able to clarify the source and the magnitude of the issue and, as a result, today we made a decision to recall all oneX bats from play. I recognize that this comes at a TERRIBLE time for you and am truly sorry about the frustrations that this will cause you. As you know, we would not be doing this if we didn’t feel like it was absolutely necessary, so I appreciate your understanding.

Attached is the letter explaining the recall, which is being used with all parties that interact with Louisville Slugger, including retailers, consumers and governing organizations. In initial discussions with governing bodies, we’ve requested that this bat be removed from approved bat lists and we anticipate that this could happen as early as late today or tomorrow.

Obviously I will be doing everything I can to ensure that you have product for games. My hope is that within a very short period of time I would be able to completely restock you with Xeno bats as we will not have oneX bats for the rest of the season and a new, two-piece composite innovation will be available later this summer.

You, college coaches and the governing bodies are first to hear about this news. This is obviously not ideal for anyone, so I ask that you please help us make the best of a bad situation by communicating directly with me with any questions or concerns you may have. A national press release and broader communication will come within the next 24 hours.

We pledge to work tirelessly to maintain your trust, continue to bring your players confidence at the plate, deliver you best in class product you have come to expect from Louisville Slugger and continue to bring you the best products the sport has to offer.

I am available on my cell phone for any further questions at 562-900-8450.

Best,
Caroline

Imagine that :o

I guess they got a little nervous, when barrel's go flying through the air like a projectile with a razor sharp point and landing in the body of a fielder.

Stuff's a joke, hey but they got pop, no they GO pop!

Wow, great timing. My dd just got her replacement onex delivered today. I guess hers was one of the rare extreme cases with a total separation of barrel from handle. If it breaks again I wonder if the recall will be honored since it had been replaced once already?

Where is she going to use it? LS is pulling it from the approved bat lists.

From what I have read, they are putting them on every associations banned list. So there for you will not be able to use it period.

This was posted by them on Facebook: "The oneX will be removed from the list of approved bats for game use throughout all levels of play."

Here is the latest from them:

In relation to the Louisville Slugger voluntary recall of the 2013 oneX, we hear your concerns. Again, we will do everything we can to support you, our loyal customers, through this situation. To that end, the replacement will be in the form of a Xeno, but we will provide more than just the bat. In addition to the Xeno we will give customers the choice of one of the following: A) a glove or bag with an $80 retail value. B) a $50 stored value gift card that's just like cash C) a 2014 oneX or equivalent bat to ship in August. Please contact our customer service toll free at 1-800-282-2287 for additional information.

Oops. Didn't see that part. Looks like we have a brand new cage bat now.

Texted with DD last night. She's at the Mary Nutter and they didn't even bring the bats along.
I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on the frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond words.

You should go for the recall - get a Xeno bat now and another bat in August 2014 (see kped's post).
