we were at a tourny this weekend and this coach kept yelling instructions and corrections to the girls. It was always followed with " just have some fun".


just thought it was funny that's all. I'm just sayin.

When I was at Officer Training in the Army we were "required" to participate in Saturday recreation- softball,soccer, basketball etc. This was referred to as "Mandatory Fun"

So- "have some fun!"

If you ask players, especially the older ones, they say it is very patronizing when parents and coaches yell at them the term "Have some fun". "Have some fun" is code for, "I can't keep my mouth shut and I have to yell out something."
