Well....there are probably a few barns around here that have seen a stripper or 2, but probably none that I would want to see ;)

Both DD's have had multiple numbers thru the years, Either from moving to another team or high school, So far it has not affected the play on the field.

Billy, Say Hi to pig-pen for me :D

Aha! This must be my little-bitty buddy with the two stud Royal players, both of whom are blonde and one of whom is a stud catcher ;-) Send me an email and let's set something up in preparation for next year...

Do you still have your Indian? I still have my Harley but it's gettin' mighty dusty.

This is essentially the pole barn we have on our farm:

JMO but I have always taught my daughter that you play for the name on the front, not the # on the back!

Tough call- good luck!

Pitchermom, here's my opinion and remember it's worth everything you paid for it. But you and your DD need to leave this team right now instead of after the season. I've seen this type situation too many times and it never works. When someone has already decided to leave a team, they are never a part of the "team" again and are only in it for themselves. It's always me first and never what's good for the team. I watched 2 teams completely destroyed last summer by the "I'm the star player of the team, treat me with the respect I deserve" attitude. Many of these girls and their families now have well deserved "reputations". Whether you know it or not, and whether you deserve it or not, from the tone of your posts you are earning a reputation yourself.

Hey Chris and Bill,

I guess it is old home week at Heybucket. There are a few studettes we could talk about, and build a team around. Though Royal will have to wait a year to get the stud pitcher.

As far as your (not so) little pitcher, Its always nice to see a studette pitcher without the 'tude. She COULD have her number for ANY team for which she wanted to play. (And I do mean any Team!) It's great that she has good perspective.

My little pitcher turned down her number 31 in HS last year because the jersey was XL. She took 13 instead. After playing for a travel team last summer whose coach's daughter wore her number, we decided that any number she wore would be "lucky" after we put enough work into her pitching. Know what I mean?

Say hi to the girls from me and NuNu.

Mom you and DD really need to get over this obstacle. Playing for a team you are wanting to leave may not be what you want to do. Someone will find out your intentions and it will get around. Soon no one will want to have you on their team. Just make the decision to stay and get over the number thing or make the decision to move to another team. I understand that you and your daugher feel you have been disregarded but you really really for the sake of your DD need to get over this. Embrace this challenge it will make both of you stronger, turn this into a positive, dont let your disgruntled feelings ruin something your DD enjoys. Please see both sides of the coin here. Someone had to lose their number, recently we were faced with a decision we had to make to make the team stronger, it wasn't in our best interest but it was in this teams. It wasn't sofball but it still was a club team. Please think long and hard about this and then pull the trigger and make the decision and don't waiver. I almost lost a good friend to a dispute we had over softball, never again will I do that, it didnt serve me or my DD very well.

The programs my daughter played for from the 14U level on up did not have names on the back of the jersey. Only a number and the team name on the front.

That's the only kind of pole barn I'd bother with.
