Are you kidding me? Part of your team merged with the Valpo Phoenix (ELITE). Couple questions: When did the Phoenix become "Elite"? When they picked up the Warrior players? Since they now have "skilled kids together on one team", are they going to actually play a competetive schedule? Or stick to the soft NSA B schedule, as they do every year?

This team may now be an "Elite" B ball team, but let's see how they compete against the big dogs (for you cpbulldogfan)!!

The only long standing commitment I ever made was to my wife.

Thanks for the recognition softball_freak! Maybe, just maybe, the Valpo Phoenix can actually beat the Bulldogs00 this year. Haven't had much luck doing that over the years, that's for sure! The Phoenix will more than likely be what they have always been, an average to below average NSA B team. They have never looked to play better competition over the years. Maybe one day the coaches will realize that playing better teams (and more than likely losing to these teams) actually makes their players better in the long run. But I highly doubt it from past history.

No problem! Sounds like the team you merged with couldn't beat the big dogs, so good luck trying to do that this year with your "elite" team. Softball math lesson - One B team plus another B team doesn't necessarily make an ASA team! You will more than likely figure that out this year with the Phoenix (from cpbulldogfan's assessment of them over the years).

This "joining of forces" still doesn't put the Phoenix in the same grouping of Bulldogs00 IMHO. Have the Phoenix ever beaten the Bulldogs00 in the last 4 years? Wasn't the runner up finish in Class B WS Fishers in 2011 supposed to make the Phoenix play class A, and yet they played in the B WS and B State in 2012? :o

As has been pointed out, they will improve if they choose to play a tougher schedule. But I think they will have a lot of catching up to do if they want to be in the discussion of tops in the class. Barring injuries or defections to key players, Bulldogs00 and White Sox 2000 will be the tops in the region by a wide margin.

They will dominate because there is no one else! Most teams had a hard time fielding a 12 u team, white sox took back 80% of their team from last year, a team that struggled. Without adding a stud pitcher they will be the best of the mediocre teams. Crown point picked up some good defensive weapons and hopefully will shake up their error prone infield. Not sure if they replaced the pitching or bats they list, but fall tournaments will be a good judge.

Again I think the only team that will run away with anything at 12 is New Lennox Lightning...they are by far one of the best defensive teams out there. They have taught and preached fundamentals and are turning those girls into very solid ball players. Should be an interesting year.

Couldn't agree more I Love Fastpitch!! Especially with the runner up finish in Fishers. I believe they started out as a Class A team, but cried to the state director that the competition was too fierce. So she knocked them down to a B team at their request. Great confidence in the team by the coaching staff, huh?

Also, I agree with your assessment of the Bulldogs00 and White Sox 2000, they should be the top two teams to beat within a large area.

That's either 3 or 4 words, depending if you count all-stars as 1 word or 2, but I apologize for not giving Gnaw Bone their just recognition.
