Best Showcase/Event of the Summer Season?

Now that the summer season is over except for the national tournaments, what was the best recruiting event your team went to, as in most college coaches in attendance at your games, or games you watched. Any you won't go back to due to low attendance?

I'd go for Zoom into June in Hemet. A lot of coaches all over the place, especially compared to the others were went to, including Fireworks Power Pools / Super 96, and Champions Cup, both of which seemed unusually low for coach sightings. I suspect in both cases because there were other events nearby (Boulder/Surf City)... maybe they were just spread really thin getting around to all the venues?

Went to Zoom into June, Colorado Sparkler and Champions Cup and for us the Champions Cup was easily the one with most college coaches.

The Sparkler was 2nd and Zoom into June was a very distant 3rd.

Zoom into June was only good if you were at Diamond Valley before the afternoon on Saturday or at the Friday camp (invitation only), and we didn't fall into either of those categories. I saw comments on here that the majority of the coaches were gone by Saturday afternoon and that most of them were at Diamond Valley only. That was our experience as well.

Being pretty new to the showcase experience it's becoming quickly evident that what fields you play at, and when you play there matters the most (along with contacting coaches ahead of time to let them know you are interested and you what your schedule is).

Did not attend any showcase this year(been there, done that), but from e-mails from some friends of mine, the CT Tradition showcase(Connecticut) this past weekend was well attended by Northeast schools, at least until the biblical storms that hit Sunday afternoon!

Has been my experience that if the coach is at a particular showcase and the player lets them know where and when they will be playing(also what team and #) they will make the effort to see them-within reason. I am always amazed at the parents that complain "there are no coaches here" are also the ones who never contact them.


A few years ago at the Deven's showcase in Mass- all five coaches that were from schools my daughter was interested in(and had contacted the coaches) came to watch her- she had a similar experience at Rising Stars in Florida as well. parents at both events complained(no coaches, wrong field etc....) Contact them and they will come

We did not go to to California so I can't offer any comments. We did not get into the Independence so we skipped Colorado as I'm not a fan of Triple Crown.

So - speaking east coast - Pennsbury was excellent. Coaches were everywhere and things ran on time. Of course, some of their fields are below par, but all in all it was very good.

The Atlanta Legacy was very good as well. Well organized with lots of coaches, they've done a good job of growing the past couple of years. I'm guessing we saw different coaches at 18's than were at the fields for the 16's, so I'm sure there were many coaches I missed.

As a coach, the Louisville Slugger and to be more specific the 16U in Longmont. We had triple the coaches at this event then the 18U in Boulder. The 18U had a good turnout but more top division I coaches in Longmont at our games.

I am eager to see the ASA / PGF difference. As most already know, I am a ASA homer but believe it or not we have teams in both. We have an 18Gold in PGF and 16U in ASA.
